ABC is very millennial, while Freeform is very, very Gen Z. This feels like a paradigm shift for the network.

There's definitely truth to this (see: Kenya Barris), but nobody forced her to talk up Roseanne at the upfronts this year or to put Roseanne on the air on the first place.
I'd have more sympathy if she had quit earlier, is what I'm saying.
Probably neither. I assume she quit as her position was going to be far less powerful after the Fox merger goes through. Both Peter Rice and Dana Walden are coming over from Fox and Dungey would have been reporting to them.

Fox television's management is very highly regarded. Rice is probably now the top candidate to replace Iger (and according to some he already was before the merger). Walden was one of the favourites for some of the top jobs the past few years, like Amazon. which she turned down.
Ohh, so it's being treated like a merger instead of an acquisition. Interesting.
