Yes it is.. 5.0 is a full fledged expansion with new jobs.. race.. raids etc
Also the Blue Mage is really getting the cap cause its probably gonna difficult to balance overall

By that point if the game is still doing well, I don't see why they wouldn't just continue, like with FFXI going on for over a decade. They certainly made the space for that.

I don't think so. That enemy is Kuribu, the boss of Lost City of Amdapor (Hard). The big winged cat statue was an earlier boss from the same dungeon. Both are the only enemies we have fought that originally come from the White Magic civilization of Amdapor. So, basically, the trailer is the WoL becoming a WoD in order to fight destructive White Magic weapons.
Ah yes, Northern Thanalan was filled to the brim with NIN and people never killing adds during Gorgimera. If you brought a healer during that one you were heralded as a GOD, haha.
Getting all the armor models to work with non humanoid races would be really hard and a lot of work so doubtful lol

With me quitting WoW yesterday probably for good and the free campaign for XIV and all the hype I'm getting for this expansion, I think all signs are aligning, it's time for me to come back.
It looks cool, but man, as much as I want to play this, MMORPGs aren't enjoyable for me anymore.

I hope it's true, there's some leaker info about all of this on reddit. He's got quite a few things right so far, even about the Gunblade class.
That was really good, almost makes me wish it wasn't an MMO. I'd love to see the FFXIV team make a single player game someday.

The story starts to pick up from around that point. Though there's still slow stretches until it gets to the great stuff.
I took it to mean something more like it will be able to participate in current content, but with a level 50 cap on the skill set (ie you won't be able to learn anything from higher level foes). Being level 50 would mean you can't learn something from a level 67 Primal, unless you're past the level 70 cap, even if you can still fight it and it might have an learnable move that you can learn at some point in the future.
- Nice for the jobs ( even if no dancer or puppetmaster would be freaking disapointing ).

Wait, so blue mage at patch 4.5 isn't so much a conventional job like the rest, but its own special bit of content that won't even be usable in current raids until sometime in the future when they patch in the highest level cap for it? Huh. I'm not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, it certainly keeps the spirit of blue mage without sacrificing it like they did for summoner in this game, but on the other hand it sounds really odd as this weird little 'limited job' that isn't like the rest.
