One of the best ever. Also wrote Harper, Marathon Man, Misery, A Bridge Too Far, and a few others that aren't coming to mind right now. Just a gobsmacking body of work.

I admit shamefully I have not read/watched his stuff more widely, but I was obsessed with the Princess Bride and the behind-the-scenes that the actor who played Wesley wrote painted a great picture of Goldman.
I will have to watch/read more.

The ending was better in the book, it left the door open for a tragedy and terrible things.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
As well as his films, Adventures in the Screen Trade is a great book on Hollywood and screenwriting.
I adore The Princess Bride as a book and as a film.
