Let's dispel this fiction once and for all that Masuda doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing; he's undergoing a systematic effort to change this franchise and make everyone buy Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee.
Noticed this is the version they played during the Twitch marathon. I always thought that was the original. I think it's the Pokemon: I Choose You version.
That was some really good editing and a brilliant idea for a trailer.

:-/ . They had the perfect opportunity to make that great and instead ruined it with a weirdly slow version of the song, bad footage selection and poor editing.
