Yes, we all remember the legendary LEMME SMANG IT GIRL. Perhaps this decade's greatest hip-hop track. But who can forget all the other straight up classics the Turquoise Jeep crew have put out?

In all seriousness, I probably go back every couple months to watch these videos again. A new song comes out every couple months or so, but never gets the kind of hits like the originals did.

Did the novelty wear out for you as well? There is a fine line between intentionally ironic and looking just good enough to be mediocre.

Slick's Back BABY!

Plus Crotch Rock That Girl is literally the Guile Theme as well. Beautiful.

Still keep the Jeep ridin' on my weekly playlists and rock their shirts. Their newer stuff doesn't have the same magic as the golden Jeep era of the first two albums with Pretty Raheem, Yung Humma and Moonrock leaving, but there's still some smangers.

Middle of Nowhere
I remember once someone told me smang it was funny, they really had a good time watching it.

Don't see the appeal or anything clever. Didn't know they did liveshows though, maybe thats where they shine.

Well that's my night sorted. Some of my favourites (beyond those in the OP):

Sex Syrup

I don't follow them like I used to, but I'm not sure the novelty wearing off is the whole picture. Like the OP I still watch their videos every now and then and feel the classics hold up. The group (speaking generally, as I understand there have been lineup changes over the years and different members had/have differing levels of involvement) are obviously very talented in a wide range of areas, and that includes comedy. But they had a narrow niche (even compared to other musical comedy groups) and that means limited material, especially when you do it so well to begin with. I also think a lot of the tracks are great just on musical merit, so I don't think they straddle a line between parody and mediocrity in that regard, but rather they (or at least their most popular/defining work) is just in kind of an awkward spot.

They got rid of Yung Humma and Pretty Raheem. I asked Flynt Flossy about it on Instagram and he deleted the comment. I can't find any information online about what happened. Anyone know why they got cut/left the group?

Oh man, I haven't listened to their shit since their first album. I think I only ever preferred Yung Humma and Raheem so it sucks to hear they've gone!

For some reason though thinking about TJ has brought me hardcore into reminiscing about Hater-Bot?

I'm still bitter I missed the set where they played with Of Montreal a few years ago. Didn't know they were opening and passed on it

Lemme Smang It, Fried or Fertilized, Go Grab My Belt, and Sex Syrup are legit great. Go Grab My Belt is probably my favorite, with Lemme Smang It right behind.

I've always been jealous of my friends who were able to see them live. Fried or Fertilized is probably my favorite song

You sound fun

They just make goofy entertaining songs, it's not the pinnacle of comedy or anything

Seen them in SF back when they first toured. Got some cool pics with them (Flossy, Humma, Whatcha). They toured recently, was in SF again like a month or 2 ago. Couldn't bring myself to buy tix because no Humma. I would have made an exception to go if Slick was there, but I knew he wasn't.

Once it became basically a flossy solo act, it went to complete shit. Every song contains lyrics "I'm going to ..... like ....." ad nauseum. Compare old YH lyrics or Pretty Ra-heem to any of FF's lyrics and it's absolutely no contest.

The Jeep came to Vancouver during the height of popularity and I still regret not going to the concert. To be fair I was hundreds of kilometres away at the time, but I should have made the sacrifice to keep the Jeep ridin.

It seems kind of like a joke that ran too long with everyone missing except Flossy and that new guy, but I hold out hope it will return to glory and I still watch the videos.

They've released some legit hits. I feel like something of theirs plays in my head at least once a week.
