With Sony pulling out of E3 2019 and industry rumblings all pointing towards a 2020 release of the PS5; what does this potentially mean for the Switch's ongoing 3rd party support?

With Nintendo now having another year to enjoy before their biggest rival can get their next gen platform ready, does this mean that 3rd party support will improve as a result? Will we see support improve over the next couple of years until the PS5/Xbox Scarlet both release?

And with Nintendo now being handed an extra year to get a potential Switch Pro/Switch 2 ready in time to match the PS5's release; could it mean that they might be able to use the Tegra Xavier? Or even the Tegra Orin to get ports from PS5/Xbox Scarlet and keep quality 3rd party support coming to the Switch ecosystem?

What do you guys reckon? What are the ramifications of this news on the Switch's potential 3rd party support going forward?

It means almost nothing.

Third parties won't be dropping PS4 support for quite some time. Regardless of when PS5 comes out.

If by 3rd party support you mean EA and Activision's newest AAA titles, then I imagine things will continue much as they have for the last year and a half.

3rd party support for mid-size publishers will probably increase, but not due to Sony/Microsoft. Just due to Switch maturing as a platform and having a highly engaged base.

So yeah, no change.

Uh.. as planned? This question is kinda off. They probbaly already have their games for 2019 already planned.

Probably staying the course.

Loads of support from Japanese companies along with every indie game under the sun and lots of AA releases. There will be an occasional AAA release like Wolf 2 and Doom.

I think the question was answered in the first few posts.
