Even though there aren't that many people that have experienced it to be able to make this claim yet, it still needs to be said, because the game probably was ignored as a GOY award simply because VR has become the favorite whipping boy of a lot of gamers and game critics and that's a completely bs reason to deny credit where credit is due.
I'm not that sour about it since the game got nominated by TGA in a sub category, but to be honest...PUBG was nominated for GOY while it was in beta and barely in a playable state for a lot of people.
The fact is that Astrobot represents the best in platforming experiences available in video games probably in over twenty years, because of both the creative genius of the developers and the way VR was utilized to immerse the player in the experience of the game world far beyond what any game has previously has done...if that doesn't say Game of The Year I'm not sure what does.
