No, what I described is a position of not dismissing people and taking their claims seriously until an investigation can answer the questions that need to be answered. What you described in your last post is pretty much the opposite. A default position of belief.
There's a difference in supporting and believing women who step forward in the court of public opinion and believing Avenatti is guilty in the court of law. Two very different things. As the investigation plays out, that will change if this turns out to be one of the very rare cases when an alleged victim fabricated their claims. The very reason why people don't step forward is because their initial efforts are often met with doubt.

At least tag me if you're gunna mention me. And disagreeing with your take and questing your "gut feeling" does not equate to thought police.

Alright but the point kinda remains, why would Avenatti even start to accuse Wohl if he did commit anything bad ?

Like the only "out" of this would be to establish there was legitimate self defense that happened, not "that 20 years old framed meeeee booooo".

I know Avenatti is kind of a douche and everyone hates him but come on, that seems... really weak, even for him. He's a lawyer not some random fool.

If he is actually innocent, maybe he also bought into the story that Wohl was trying to frame him. Or if he's guilty, he's just trying to deflect in any way he can.

and you still don't realize how that's offensive smmfh

Oh, in any other case I would agree it's offensive. In this case, the person in question is criminally going after the goddamn POTUS. If there's no space for suspicion in your head, you're either more naive than I thought, or a Trumper yourself.

To further clarify, if Avenatti did hit someone, he should have the book thrown at him, no questions asked.

Folks, don't do Surefire's work of discrediting leftist figures for them, no matter how much you dislike Avenatti.

We don't know if Wohl actually filed the police report as of yet, and we know TMZ got some pretty critical details wrong so it's not an open/shut case at this point, but don't make a damn conspiracy out of it in the vast absence of information that we have currently.

TMZ is not a news organization, it's a tabloid. Harvey Levin is a sleazebag Trump supporter. Neither of these things mean Avenatti is innocent or guilty.

I can't believe people are believing this and it has nothing to do with Avenatti. If Jacob Wohl told me he had evidence Donald Trump was a criminal, I'd disbelieve him too.

One thing I know for sure: no matter what, going forward, fucking Wohl has tainted everything about this and I feel bad as hell for the victim if he was just trying to get back in the spotlight.

He's had a hard on for tainting metoo for forever now.

CNN: Stormy Daniels says she will get a new lawyer if domestic violence allegations against Avenatti are true

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, made her first public comments about Avenatti's Wednesday arrest in a speech Thursday before Oxford University's debating society.

"I will say that right now they are just allegations and I am going to reserve judgment, and I hope that everyone does -- trust me, I know what it feels like to be on the other end of that -- until all the details are discovered," Daniels said.

"But if the allegations turn out to be true then I will definitely be seeking new representation because I cannot condone or support someone who is abusive," she added.

That was always his plan.

1) If it works, he takes down his enemies by paying women to testify against them

2) If it doesn't work, you can use that as a "see we can't believe women cause there are too many of them ready to lie for money or political agenda !!"

He thinks this is a win/win situation for him but he's going to end up in jail.

This guy has always seemed like a slimeball to me.

He was a useful attack dog who could sink to Trump's level to fight him, but any kind of higher political ambition always gave me pause.

Sadly, yeah. Those tossing out false accusations are deliberately creating an environment where it's difficult for victims to come forward with hopes of being heard and trusted. I think why you had such an outpouring of stories last year is, for a moment, it felt like people were finally listening to the victims and not immediately dismissing them.

Avenatti's first court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 5.

Will there be anything but 3 weeks of speculation until then?

No since he is a decent Lawyer he is going to get his facts straight and pull up witnesses and try not to defame the Lady to much in public. Basic lawyer shit. If it turns out to be a set-up he is going to burn a few people to the ground and if its true he will lose all his recent clients and serve his time before maybe coming back to practice law again but no more high profile cases.

They're usually very good. They have lost credibility with this faux pas.

Yeeeah, that's just not true at all. I had a friend who worked there during one of their more high profile stories. It was extremely clear from what she told me that they will provide plenty of evidence to back up a story, but that doesn't mean you're actually getting the full story. They're an entertainment company first. They will tell you a story in the way that best drives sales even if they have plenty of information to show that there's much more than what they're telling you.

Bits from Poltico:

Avenatti was arrested Wednesday afternoon on the 10000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard and police say he was booked on suspicion of domestic violence.

Prosecutors will ultimately determine whether formal charges will be filed against Avenatti but they have not yet received his case for review, a Los Angeles District Attorney's office spokesman said Thursday. Avenatti is due in court on Dec. 5, police said.

And comment from Jack Openfly Burkman:

Reached Thursday, a Wohl associate who partnered with him on the Mueller allegations, Jack Burkman, said he knew nothing of Avenatti's allegation against Wohl and said he knew nothing of Avenatti's arrest until he received media calls. "Must be a West Coast thing," Burkman said.

Wohl could not be reached for comment.

Michael Avenatti @MichaelAvenatti

Jacob Wohl - you continue to make false accusations against me to try & destroy my life. You are now claiming I have been charged with a felony when I have not been charged with anything. I promise that you will soon learn the hard way that you are not as smart as you think.

This is kinda fascinating. If Avenatti is lying, I don't see how he won't end up being exposed pretty soon. If this story is BS and Wohl is involved, then holy shit. If this story is BS but Wohl isn't involved, then WTF?

Avenatti seems pretty confident Wohl is involved, which would be crazy.

I haven't been following this. So from what I understand, the accusations against Avenatti might be bullshit made up by Republicans?

It's a weird story. My understanding is that a woman went to the police and accused Avennati of abusing her. But it wasn't either his first ex-wife or his second ex-wife (or maybe estranged current wife?). Both of them announced publicly that it wasn't them, they weren't in the same location, and he was never abusive. Then Jacob Wohl chimed in, saying "Surefire Intelligence strikes again!" -- his fake investigation company. Wohl later claimed he was just joking.

Avennati was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and released on bail.

He hasn't been charged, because prosecutors haven't made a decision on his case yet: it appears nothing's left the LAPD, and again, LAPD doesn't make charging or prosecuting decisions.

In other words, this is weird.

Avennati's objectively a smart guy. If, for instance, this woman is a girlfriend that could be placed within the same location through testimony of the doorman, her testimony, and GPS locator data, he's done and he knows that. But he's denouncing this loudly, suggesting that Wohl has a hand in it, and is (smartly, for a criminal defendant) keeping his mouth shut aside from issuing a general denial.

And yet, there was definitely a complaining witness (the woman, who claimed to be in some kind of intimate relationship with Avennati, suffered injuries of some degree, and claimed Avennati inflicted them).

This is definitely a "let's diligently investigate a credible accusation and wait for the facts" case.

If Wohl is involved, he ruined his own scheme by immediatly bragging about it.
If Avenatti is guilty, Wohl handed him a conspiracy theory that exonerates him.

One way or another Jacob Wohl is an idiot.
