Okay, I want to ask a question, and I need an answer.

How, exactly, is Wohl going to be the mastermind behind this? What is the exact scenario?
I'm quite sure the fellow is just latching onto the events to draw attention to himself. Seems a bit silly given how his last scheme played out.

Avenatti has spoken out about this arrest multiple times already, including denying he has ever struck a woman, but not once has he claimed to not know the woman who has accused him, or otherwise cast doubt on her standing to make a claim of domestic violence. That's probably because the woman is in fact someone who is or was in a relationship with him. So Wohl either got to someone who has or has had a relationship with Avenatti, or actually orchestrated the relationship in the first place. How likely does this seem to some of you?
i dunno dude, maybe the teenager living in his parents basement who has a montage of talk show hosts making fun of him as a flex on his twitter and is too dumb to organize a conference call is actually a criminal mastermind after all

What

What we know is that a woman is claiming she was physically assaulted by Avenatti. Our first instinct should be to believe the victim, not invent the idea of conspiracy theories with no evidence.

Prominent lawyer known for going hard after Trump? Yeah in this case our first instinct should be to wait and see the facts before grabbing the pitchforks.

Hmm he doesn't say he's innocent. He hasn't been charged YET. Lisa (?) isn't the woman he assaulted. Okay so someone else then.
He did say before that he never hit a woman and that he would never hit a woman, that it was a fabrication. I'm not siding with him but he did say this before.

You forgot "witch hunt!"

I'm not saying he's guilty, calm down. Whereas you think there is a conspiracy with no evidence. "I think this is a hit job" is not "wait and see".

Don't you have to be "charged" with something to be jailed and have bail set? Confused here.
No. He was arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse, no charges have been filed yet. A prosecutor will look into the case and determine whether he should be charged with something within the next day or two.

The fact that he still hasnt released his side of the story tells me he's just hoping to spread so much fud that no one can find out what really happened.

I mean, hate avenatti all you want, but would he REALLY try to pin it on Jacob Wohl ?

You would have to be as stupid as Jacob to do this lmao.

This is going to be quite the story regardless of the outcome.

Or he aint gonna release her name until either the case is dropped or formal charges are filed. If he gets detailed people are gonna sleuth the shit out it and find whoever it is.

Seems like a pretty low effort smear to me. Accuse a guy of beating his ex-wife, only for his ex-wife to come out within' hours and say it never happened? Try harder next time I guess.

He was trying to pin it on Wohl because Wohl claimed credit on twitter as a joke but because Wohl is so stupid nobody knew if it was a joke or not so now some people genuinely think Wohl is behind this.

The level of disinformation is incredible seeing people come into this thread.

Just imagine what is going on in conservative circles.

Oh, people were saying that were they? Must have missed those posts. I took for granted that it would have been a simple assault charge if it was an unrelated woman who is the victim.
Yeah this is the problem with following it in the moment because if it was a random woman we'd have known within the next 3 days and then we'd know it was fake which is long in internet time >.>

Why the hell would there be evidence at this point? Kind of a shitty hit job if the evidence floated up this quickly. Like I said, it's a gut feeling. I think im in my right to express a measly gut feeling, no?

This thread is a rollercoaster. Everyone could... I dunno... Wait until all the information is available?

Yup. Wohl is the special kind of guy who is both stupid enough to frame somebody right after his last attempt to frame them blew up and then brag about it, but is also stupid enough to take credit for framing someone who actually committed a crime.

His wife and ex-wife denied it was them. But it's been confirmed for a while now by the LAPd that there is a woman with visible injuries that has accused Avenatti of domestic violence. We just don't know her identity.

Honestly this situation isn't as confusing as people in here are making it out to be.
You stated all the facts we know, but regardless of that there're still some folks in this thread making all kinds of conspiracy theories.

I agree, that person was choosing a side because of a "gut feeling".

This thread is 100% gut feelings on both sides. Cause like, there has been no completed investigation and no evidence shown to the public. The thread is built on pure stupid and overreactions.

I hope no one here is actually suggesting that the default position of believing women is somehow a gut feeling or "taking sides".
we haven't even seen the woman, we dont know anything about the woman. it's simply a gut feeling, I'm not choosing any side at the moment. Jesus christ at the thought policing in here.
Ah yes, the awful thought police who challenge ideas have arrived

The default position should be to not dismiss a woman's claims. To actively seek the truth regardless of race, gender, age, wealth, reputation etc. That should be your only default position until you have facts to base it on.

Alright but the point kinda remains, why would Avenatti even start to accuse Wohl if he did commit anything bad ?

Like the only "out" of this would be to establish there was legitimate self defense that happened, not "that 20 years old framed meeeee booooo".

I know Avenatti is kind of a douche and everyone hates him but come on, that seems... really weak, even for him. He's a lawyer not some random fool.
