Kingdom Hearts 3. I'll look into Resident Evil 2 later on when it's discounted. I have soured on the Resident Evil franchise and I never really held 2 to some high standard like others do.

I'm getting both, but I'm a bit more hyped for KH3. Honestly haven't been this hyped for a game since Dead Space 2 probably.

Are we forgetting RE6 sold like 7 million and this is a remake of a beloved classic? How much are you expecting KH to sell?

Kinda think you're making a mistake bringing RE6 and saying this game should sell just as good if not better because it's a remake of a beloved classic.

But hey that's just me, also KH3 is doing more than 7.

People bringing the "sales" argument to prove a point, come on, if people don't care about KH3 let me be, just enjoy your KH3 and let others enjoy RE2.

I'm not sure KH III is doing more than 7M, no KH done it iirc. Actually I'm not sure if either RE 2 or KH III will reach this number.

One is a remake. The other is a complete new and also the final entry of a great series. KH3 no question

I was always interested in kingdom hearts but Everytime I played it the gameplay was too shitty/outdated so I gave up a hour or so in

My only resident evil is re4 and 7 and I tried 5/6 but they kinda got boring. Played them once you played them all.

So probably will get KH3 first since they could finally modernize the controls in a KH game.

Kingdom hearts is saccharine and nonsensical. It's everything I don't want in a game. Would probably be good for a child though.

So RE2remake by far

Remake 2 might. I think REVII is over 5m atm if I recall and this has a big nostalgia factor behind it for fans. We'll see I guess. It has the advantage of being on multiple platforms that KH doesn't.

KH is also on multiple platforms (PS4 and XB1).

RE 6 had a huge maketing campaign and it almost did not reach 7M. Not sure about RE 2 either.

Even without the 4-day gap, I still am on super duper wait-and-see mode for Kingdom Hearts. Not sure that modern Square Enix games are really my bag (Octopath notwithstanding).

It makes sense why KH3 is losing in the poll, you need to be invested in a long as series for it.

REmake 2 you can just get that one and not play anything else.

Resident Evil 7 is at 5.7 million sales, and looks like it's going to be over 6 million sales before it's 2-year anniversary. Which, on account of all RE7 had to struggle against (successor to RE6, new perspective first-person RE with a lot of hate pre-release), it did fantastically. REmake 2 is for sure going to perform better than RE7, though.

Didn't realise KHIII was on the xbox as well.

I'm more hyped for RE2make honestly. I've waited so long for KHIII that my hype has mostly cooled off. I'm definitely picking it up, but not at launch. I'm also curious to see if they'll eventually release a PC version as well.

KH3 I'm replaying the whole series in December and January until release day. Then I'll be taking a week off work for KH3.

Some RE fans aren't kind to Kingdom Hearts lol.

As for sales I believe RE will sell more, but I do also think KH3 might reach 5M sales in the first year, it depends a bit on the marketing push in December-January.

There is near no competition between these games though since they cater to two different audiences, which is visible in this thread.

Don't care about Kingdom Hearts at all in any way whatsoever whereas Resident Evil 2 is one of my favourite games of all time along with REmake so....guess which choice I picked?

RE2. I mean, it's impact on me was crazy.

It's a game that defined an entire genre.

I actually bought the KH collections to get into the series and I beat KH1 but that game hasn't aged well and I've lost some interest. I'm still planning on getting through the series though.
I think you like it simple and clean.

WOOOOOOOOOO

I'm really looking forward to REmake 2, but the original Resi 2 is...fine? Disappointing, mostly. So I'm looking forward to seeing it improve!

Resident Evil 2 by a mile. KH series is a decent RPG but imo it's not really up there with the best of Final Fantasy etc.

Oh wow. I'm so torn on this, Resi 2 is one of my all time favourites, and I adore the Kingdom Hearts series... Aghh... I can't decide. What's even more concerning is they're both so close!

Easily Resident Evil 2. No question.

It's one of the things I want to play most. Resident Evil 2 was a big game of my childhood, and I still fondly remember the times I rented it alone and with friends.

I hope to enjoy Kingdom Hearts III and do have it preordered at a discount, but I'm still on the fence about it. The series has become way too convoluted and I worry I'll feel lost. I played the first game when it came out and put 30 hours into it in one week's rental with a friend. We got to the final boss but couldn't beat it.

Rented the second but only played it for a bit.

That's all I've played, and there's so much that's been confusingly released since.

It's been so long since I felt so much hype for a game like for RE2. But KH3 holds a special place in my heart. It isn't hype I feel for this game (the trailers are not doing a good job anyway), it's more like love and homecoming vibes I get. You ever felt something like this for a game? It's infinitely better than simple hype, so I vote for KH3.

Both games will be special for gamers, because they evoke nostalgic feelings and both will undoubtedly sell good (probably around 7-15 million). But Capcom is doing a much better job with the marketing.

RE2 by a mile.

I only played the first Kingdom Hearts, and it was decent enough, but not something I really wanted to go back to. I doubt I'll ever play III, because I don't see myself going back through the others to understand what's going on. I love the first three RE games (and the remake of 1), and I want 2 to do well in hopes that Nemesis will get the same treatment next.

As a horror enthusiast, it's obviously very weighted for Resident Evil 2 for me.

It's not that I have zero interest in Kingdom Hearts 3, but it's a series I just find more fascinating than one I could say I enjoy.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is almost guaranteed to do better than REmake 2 (though I think REmake 2 will be one of the best performing RE games), but I think REmake 2 has the advantage in the aspect you can have never played a RE game and pick up and play REmake 2 easily, while I can't say the same is nearly as true for KH3.

I'm not so sure about that. KH is no FF when it comes to sales.

The old game with modern design principles and storytelling or the new game with antiquated design principles and storytelling?

Hmmm.

I like Kingdom Hearts well enough but a ground-up remake of RE2 that's purely survival horror is hard to beat.

RE2.

KH3 looks pretty but I only played one game--BBS--and only the PSP version and only one campaign--Ventus lol.

That poll still has me shook. The sales numbers will probably go in the opposite direction though.
