I was interpreting it as you would get ability points for future levels. And then when you hit those future levels you won't get an ability point.

They haven't phrased it consistently but general consensus is that we'll get ability points equivalent to the XP earned since hitting 50, then continue to level as normal past 50. If anything it would be bonus points for those that continued to play..

I guess we'll find out soon.

Am I the only one really bummed out about the level cap increase? All the areas in the game scale to levels 48-50 when the player hits 50, right? So an increase in level cap mean all the areas also scale up - but armor doesn't scale unless you upgrade. So when you hit, say, level 58, all the areas will be scaled up to 56-58. That isn't any meaningful feeling of getting stronger, and now I have to upgrade my gear constantly again or I'm going to actually be relatively weaker to where I was when the cap was 50.

Am I missing something? What is the benefit of an increased cap without new areas to explore than require it?
Well, they reduced the prices for upgrading gear quite a lot (they even tweaked the discount perks from the Mercenary Rankins) so upgrading gear shoulf be a painless process~

They should bring back the system from Origins where you can pour endless points into upgrading the 3 main damage types. Each point was 1 percent increase, I had something like +30 in the Warrior damage by the time I was done. It also lets you avoid wasting points on stuff you'll never use.

I'm really debating starting over.

I got to the point in the main quest where you're looking for someone after Athens and you have like 3 people to ask. Don't know remember anything about the story so I feel like I might as well start over.

Is there anyway to turn off the increase of level cap? I rather not spend more resources on upgrading plus I have all the skill points I need and more.

Which game is better, Odyssey or Origins?

Did they fix the annoying stuttering and hitching on the X that the Ubi forums have been constantly complaining about?

It's not common at all. I would guess most people of a certain age have only encountered it in those C&H strips.
It's common in this context. That's what WoW called it and it's basically thus what all RPGs shorthand it to.

It's been like a month O_O Also, it tells you all of this if you just go into the quest log, like all of your odyssey and stuff.

You're at a really good place to pick up again, though. Any of the three places you go to will have information about the person you're looking for and why. And after that the story gets refocused.

Which game is better, Odyssey or Origins?

I prefer Odyssey. It does pretty much everything Origins does but bigger and/or better. I preferred the setting in Origins, but Odyssey just has so much. And the combat has gotten a very smart update to the skill tree to make it much more intuitive and useful. You can viably switch between multiple playstyles in Odyssey.

Hmm alright thanks. Still want to finish Red Dead before I jump back into though and I'm nowhere near done lol.

Sounds like a good time to get in, although I haven't yet finished Origins DLC. Game is on sale on xbox live, just debating between gold ($65) and ultimate ($78), the $13 difference seems to get you some loot that will be useless after a few hours but it also seems to come with the pre order bonus mission, something about kings. I also assume you pretty much want to buy the XP boost in the store before you start so you don't have to grind as much.

Sure it might depend on the definition of grinding. If you just want to follow the main quest you have to take some time between missions and level / grind a bit. But if you just play the game, explore the world, etc. there is more than enough to do to achieve max level without any problem. The enemies / quests / rewards scale with your level so you get for example more XP after clearing a camp with level 20 than level 5.

Wow.

First off, thank you Era (OP) for keeping me up to date on things like this. I dropped it half way through on PC to pick up the Destiny expansion for a bit and and now on FFXV. I'll definitely pick this back up when I'm done w/ XV.

Transmog is awesome and was one of the things that bugged me.

Level cap increase is cool too.

Good job Ubi.

I just started the game and my ship is no longer fully upgraded. oO
Lost(?) 1-2 upgrades in every category or did the patch add additional upgrade possibilities?

Transmog is huge, and I had the bug where you couldn't move the D-pad is photo edit mode, so this patch is A+ for me.

Well, that's stupid about experience not counting toward lvling. I already of plenty of ability points not used so more is pointless. And, worse, I already cleared every icon on the map so getting more exp will be much harder.

Previously, boosters would automatically apply themselves upon purchase; now, you've the ability to "pause" them so that they're active only when you're playing the game.

Oh...it is related to booster pack DLC.

I read somewhere that Ubisoft if considering tweaking leveling system in the game. So I was thinking about that.

Awesome, just got the game yesterday and it feels so much better to play than Origins. The parkour, combat, horse riding, etc. feels so much more fluid and quicker.

I got 8 ability points for free, yay. I have nothing to spend them on...

Also seems they're starting to implement mythical creature re-fights. People reporting new loading tips about a new gear set from hard fights and when you hover over the places you fought them they have a difficulty indicator.

The adrestia being downgraded after the patch is intentional but they said they forgot to add it to the patch notes. They added more levels to it

It's usually worth waiting until about Christmas to play an Assassin's Creed game. This seems like a good patch.

Will be playing it in 39 days
