Whatever I happen to have in the little change pouch of my wallet. Otherwise, everything is paid by card.

Swedish here.

Haven't carried any cash in Sweden in the last five years. No one ever uses cash, and many places don't even accept it anymore. Sweden is becoming cashless at a fast pace.

It depends on whether I am currently living in a first, second or third world country.

1st world country = hardly any cash, payment always with card (contact or contactless) and/or mobile payment
2nd world country = mostly cash (like 100-200 USD), rarely pay with card, often no mobile payment options available
3rd world country = some cash (like 50-100 USD), mostly pay with mobile payment options (especially in African countries), never with card

Moved to China from the States. Never use cash here or even have withdrawn any from the ATM , and never used cash in the States outside of heading to bars for tipping.

Enough to catch a bus and grab something out of a vending machine, but since both of those things are starting to take credit cards, I will soon start carrying literally no cash in my pockets/wallet. What a time to be alive!

0. Hardly ever. If I go somewhere I know they only take cash. Like Germany. Seriously I can't remember the last time I went somewhere in Sweden where card or Swish (money transfer app) was not accepted.

Never more than 30€.

Cash is more or less reserved to go to the bakery, so each 30€ batch usually lasts about one month.

None, actually. But I should. Around 50-80 Euros would be my go-to amount of cash to have on me. Enough to pay for groceries if for whatever reason you can't use your debit card due to some technical error in the store.

i'm aggressive with my cashback options. at least 2% cb on every purchase or bust, no matter how small

so 0 cash. though i know it's kind of stupid never to carry any

I usually don't unluess I go somewhere that doesn't take(usually the laundromat) credit and has those bs atm machines. Then I go get 20 or something and walk around with the change until I use it. Then it's no cash.

In Sweden we hardly use cash anymore.
Heck, a lot of places don't even accept cash...

So naturally I never carry any of it around unless I'm abroad.

probably no more than $50. And thats mostly because of a few places near me that won't let you use a debit card for purchases under a certain amount or take cash only. Otherwise, I would never have more than $10 on me.

Card readers have been out of service for almost a year at the cafeteria at work. Food's cheap, though, so I pull out $20 cash each week.

I'm a millennial and live in china where wechat and alipay are accepted everywhere and I keep about the equivalent of $5 bucks in my wallet just in case, but the last month I haven't even taken the wallet with me.

I'm going to hate moving back to the States aren't I? Fucking still writing checks in the states for fucks sake.

So how much do you have in your wallets?

You don't have to write many checks in the states- the checks I write are for yearly tax bills and my HOA assessment which I pay yearly (and I could pay that by card).

About 20-30 euros usually. I like to use my debit card whenever possible, but this is Germany. Going out to eat without cash is impossible.

Earlier this year I found some cash in my wallet that I didn't realise I had, and I had no idea where it came from. I haven't used cash in a long time so I gave it to my mum.

If I go anywhere outside my local area, I bring a few hundred just in case. If I'm going a few states over, I'll bring cash, checks, plastic. Can't be over prepared when it comes to money.

This happened to me a few times I used my card too much that I would have moments that I'm worried if u had enough money to eat properly. Then I check my wallet and seeing I had like around a hundred dollars for that I kept in case for like weeks and I laugh at myself for being an idiot.

I live in Japan where cash is still very very strong.
I kind of make a point of going mainly to store where I can use my card, but I can't escape cash...
Lots of shops just won't take card and for instance If you go out no place will let you split the bill for multiple card payments, even if they accept them.

I basically go out with how much I think I'll need, which is kinda of a pita.

None. Haven't carried cash on me since my CU started offering debit cards. There are occasions when I need cash for paid events at the school and the like where I'll grab some, but other than than that I never carry cash anymore.

0.

Sydney is very much on its way to being a cashless society which I think is great.

I think cash only places underestimate the business they lose out and the time/money they lose out on by having to handle cash. Not to mention having to deal with fraud/counterfeit themselves.

I was in China for two weeks and they don't even know what cash is anymore. It's Alipay all the way. Don't have the app? You're absolutely lost.

Between $0-20. Usually $0. When I have cash it's usually because we ordered take out, I put it on my credit card, and someone paid me back cash.
