Well yeah. Any company making a game has a release window internally, even if the game has no official release date, or if it's not even announced.
Gamers hate delays, so they wouldn't risk that.

Sad to see it's not the original team or the original developers. It's Bandai Namco Singapore, whose only console game so far is a 79% rated JRPG.

1. We don't have official confirmation on their involvement, though it does look likely, 2. Wasn't the rumour updated to say that Bamco Japan was leading the development?

It does sound more like we're going to see a trailer at the Game Awards. My guess is either late 2019 or March 2020.

Fuck yeah! That's gotta mean 2019. I've thought fall 2019 for a long while now, and I'm sticking to it.

The massive disappointment around here if they're not showing MP4 or Bayo3 or the RetroStudios game at TGA could be something else LOL

The game you announced 17 months ago is well in development? That's a shocker. I thought they would have waited a few more years after the announcement to really begin development.

Metroid Prime's original team is scattered between multiple studios. It was never going to happen.

Also, consider that Retro Studios were a garbage fire studio when they began working on Prime, who had to be whipped into shape by Nintendo before they began pushing gold. They've done similar such attitude adjustments to Next Level Games and MercurySteam, who outside of Nintendo collaborations are usually pushing out mediocrity.

How good Prime 4 will be doesn't just boil down to the choice of studio. The people orchestrating it need the right vision for it.

As opposed to Retros no games before MP1? You forget Nintendo is heading this. Depending on the level of control/delegation of duties the studios' involvement could be anything from just technical dev work to actively contributing to the game's design

I'm stupidly excited for this. If they nail the atmosphere of the original trilogy then, I'll be very happy indeed. It's been way too long.

Trailer at TGA please, plus a release of the first 3 Prime titles :( I'd love to have them on Switch.

Retro moved onto other projects, which I can't really fault them for when they did three games back-to-back and each time was a nail biter in terms of project management. That, and losing talent to both Bluepoint and Armature couldn't have helped them out much in the long run if they did ever want to go back to it.

This is a misunderstanding of how Nintendo operates now. Sorry if I sound dismissive, I am sure they are talented in their own right, but Bandai Namco is like the people you contract to Physically build a house and nail it together. nintendo (sakamoto or tabata) does the civil engineering, architecture, project management, and so on.

Rétro Studios was a newbie studio with only a handful of canceled flukes on their backs, but Nintendo saw potential and gave them good management, and turned them into a studio that has only made masterpieces.

It's probably going to be 2020 unfortunately, but if it means the game will be better than releasing it early then Im for it.
