Has anyone ever bought one of these super expensive editions and not regret it? Like, do you actively "enjoy" your memorabilia Halo helmet or Skyrim Wall statue?

I grabbed the God of War variant and I absolutely love it. GCU giving a significant discount doesn't hurt either.

I did, however regret the Ghost edition of Destiny--mainly because the vanilla game sucked at launch.

No, most of it inevitably ends in the garbage which is why I've mostly stopped buying these.

One of the few things that hasn't ended up in the trash was the Skyrim map. It's framed in my living room and looks really nice.

My preview box of the T-51 Helmet set just arrived with no apparent embargo attached. No disc in the steelbook; just a circle-shaped piece of cardboard stuck in the DVD slot with a Bethesda.net voucher. (Why bother with a steelbook if they're not even bothering with discs? I don't get it, though some people love to collect the things.)

Unfortunately, the helmet feels plasticky, and its voice modulation is a little weak. (Worse, the packing styrofoam that this production house used flaked off, so there's all these little beads of styrofoam that cling to the headset; I still can't get them all off.) Plus, it comes with only one sound effect and one light-up piece. But the set of plastic minis is quite nice IMO, and the glow-in-the-dark map looks great.

I may take photos of this for an Ars piece in the morning. Feeling sick and passing out, just wanted to share some quick thoughts for y'all.

My gallery and impressions: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018...-armor-fallout-76-version-so-you-dont-have-to

if you want to wear this for your next costume, you'll need to do two things: add customized padding and replace the visor's plastic. The helmet makes zero accommodations for a mobile fit, so you'll need to build in and glue down some foam. And while you can see through the visor, it looks terribly Vaseline-ey. Did this production house not have access to, say, material used in an average pair of sunglasses? (If you're going to bother customizing this for public wear, you might also want to rip out and rewire the voice box that comes in the set. Instead of giving your voice a cool "power armor" modification, it sounds like something from a cheap children's toy.)

More thoughts at the link.

Do you mean "ripped off"? (related: https://www.thoughtco.com/terms-many-dont-know-are-racist-2834522)

I think $200 is definitely too high for the resultingly cheap-feeling helmet, though it remains to be seen what this special-edition DLC actually is in the game (the box doesn't say), which is also a factor in the cost consideration.
Nope. Methinks this is gonna make my next TSA encounter awkward...

(It's simple enough to put on and take off.)

Kinda dissapointing that it is cheap feeling cause it looks great.

Collectors editions are almost always cheap schlocky crap. When you buy then you gotta embrace it.

Its not as "cheap" as what the other guy made me think. I mean, I kinda get what hes saying, but its still pretty sweet imo. The visor part kinda sucks tho. Hard to see clearly thru it

Yeah I'm actually pretty impressed with the quality over all, some of the wires inside are pretty shoddily taped but eh what can ya do. Thing is massive.

As far as schlocky crap goes its pretty damn awesome, I have no practical use for it or really any place to put it and I need to ban myself from buying this shit. But its big dumb fun.

The visor is awful, they tuned it to the shade of nausea so you can't see shit and feels all fucked up, makes the claustrophobic feeling inside even worse.
