Trailer released for Detective Pikachu film

Pretty much encapsulates my entire reaction to this film from the original announcement all the way through when I finished viewing the trailer a moment ago. This looks charming as hell, and an accessible entry into the Pokemon world for anyone who knows fuck all about it. TPC and Legendary knew what they were doing and absolutely made the right call here.
Also really digging the hell out of the neo noir vibe I'm getting from this thing.
It's up there (44% RT), but it's actually Tomb Raider 2018 (51% RT) and Rampage (52% RT) at the top for now.
Not only are you irrationally mad but you're WRONG about Mr.Mime. hand in your Pokedex fam.
But Mr Mime has an actual invisible wall attack, so what?

I have to say, this poster is absolutely gorgeous. Also really liked the trailer, looks inspired.

And according to some sources, test-screenings and previews have had extremely positive reactions.
Why are you assuming people are forcing themselves instead of just simply liking this movie trailer?
Critical reception or not, this isn't even in the realm of Super Mario Bros's weird sci-fi stuff.
Director is a lil shaky but Nicole Perlman did write and she is pretty good (worked on GOTG1 for instance)

Do you really, truly think that the moment I saw the thread and opened the trailer that I was thinking "oh man I know this will suck but I really want to like this real life adaptation of a game I've never played and have zero interest in, oh woe is me" and not "lol real life pokemon let's see what kind of trainwreck this is"?
I like it. It looks fun and the style appeals to me. I'm not forcing myself to do anything.
