Wait what is season set and what do you mean by free?

What is good class to invest time on?

Also can the host kick me out of the party in quick match?

I feel like im being kicked a lot from the host ,but it says it disconnected.
Seasons have chapter objectives for things to do. When you finish chapters 2-4, they give you an item you can redeem on any character which gives gear for a full set. You can get these items once per season for the account. So best used with a class you know you're gonna stick with for a while.

As to kicking, I haven't seen that option... and I've tried to find it for some of those random people who join and then just sit in town. When you've disconnected, did you notice if it says the host left and you were being migrated to a new host? That's most likely what happened, happens all the time to me. Pretty much sticking to making my own groups from here on out. Wish the game had some dedicated servers to remove this problem but it is what it is.

Are you talking about warning about leaderboards preventing you from playing the seasonal character offline?

If so, you just have to wait 3-4 seconds to bypass it in my experience, played offline while washing my clothes
I'm pretty sure the game completely blocked me from using my seasonal character while offline, but I could have mis-read things. I hope that's the case! I'll try again next time around.

As long as you stay in a game, losing connection won't kick you out. If you leave to reset difficulty, change from campaign to adventure, etc., then you won't be able to play. The key is simply staying in the game and then you can run endless rifts and at least one full set of bounties.

So if people want to be able to hop between various titles while on the go and not connected, D3 won't be an option for this if they're only playing a seasonal character, they'll want a normal character for that.

If you are on the last challenge you should have the first 4 pieces of your set. Do you have those equipped?

The jump in power for crusader from rares to the set was insane. Even just 4 pieces.

I would suggest looking up your class on icy veins too. I have been following their fresh 70 guide and it us great. Farming torment 7 currently with no issues

I had to google the fact that get the set items through some in game mail system which isn't explained anywhere in the game. How ridiculous....

As long as you don't actually quit the game it's fine. If you start at home with a connection, then put the switch to sleep without quitting Diablo you can resume during your commute and you will just get a warning that progress won't go towards leaderboards.

Separately to the above, is it expected that so many skills are just...seemingly useless?

I'm playing as a Wizard and am currently around level 20, and so many skills just have no use at all. And then I unlocked disintegrate and it seems pointless to use anything else since that's so powerful! Is this just a side-effect if still rising through the early game, or will this continue to be true even after I reach 70?

Lol my son hated the wizard then he got disintergrate, now all he does is spam disintegrate and I'm just running around opening chests.

I'm still working my way through the story and am wondering if I'm going about this right.... my buddy said to keep all yellow or better items until the post game, is this correct? And why? I have ended up needing to expand my stash several times (up to 120 yellow and orange items stored now)

If you plan on having alts low level items with sockets can be very good for quick leveling. Otherwise I'd bust them down for mats, unless it's a super specific item it'll be useless if it dropped before level 70.

Crusader 70, now the real game begins (well, again, since I parked the Necro at 70 because of the curse bug)

Just got a Hardcore character to 70 and earning that sweet paragon XP. Every level will make the next run that much easier. Gotta be very careful though; even with the cheat-death passive, I've had two fairly close calls already. No rushing into Torment VI+ right from the get go this time...

The character is a Crusader with the hopes of collecting the Akkhan set, cause that thing still wrecks shit like no one's business. Doubt he'll ever reach the heights of my similarly-built PC character (Primal Frydehr's Wrath!!), but I'll definitely give it my best shot.

Did they say anything about this yet?
Only thing we know right now is the icon's getting updated. :P But since they're taking this much time, I'm guessing a fix for Necro is on its way too. Aside from the very rare random crashing, it's easily the standout issue that needs fixing.

I've been out of the diablo loop for a while but is there any word about another character expansion? I thought I heard about the Druid a while ago but not sure if that's still a thing.

Realistically, Diablo 4 is likely 2-3 years away at the earliest. It's crazy to think there won't be anymore content added to Diablo 3. But then again maybe that's what the mobile game is for.

Nothing official on another character and I don't recall that rumor, if that's what it was. I honestly think they've moved on from extended content like that, I feel we're just gonna get the occasional stuff each season like we are now. Maybe that's pessimistic, but just seems how things have been going for a while now.

I'm currently playing a Seasonal Necro. I'm at lvl 62 on Master difficulty. My DPS isn't nearly as good as it was on Hard or Expert. Is there an optimal skill setup I should be running while I don't have the awesome seasonal armor setups?

I originally had a build centered around generating corpses, with using corpse lance as my primary method of high dps. This seems to be almost non-viable on Master difficulty for me so far though. Any tips would be much appreciated!

its all about gear, its that simple.

a good legendary weapon for example boosts your dps like 2 difficulty levels.

Looking for a fresh 70 build can be helpful here. Even if you're not 70 yet, most on icyveins will tell you what skills to prioritize on your way to 70. Can help show some good synergies between passives and skills and other things you might not think about.

For example, the 3.3 section in the below guide. Hope it helps!

Make sure you are using gear close to your character level. Use a weapon with a socket and stick your best Ruby in there for extra damage. When you hit 70, replace it with the best emerald you have and then focus on criticisms chance and damage.

When leveling my Necro, I used Skeletons, Skele Mages, and Corpse Explosion as my main sources of DPS.

Just rode the siege hammer. That was cool.
Romping through the expansive gray-green mess before that, however, was not.

Act 5 in general seems to favour monochromatic environments with heavy duty fog effects. Ugh. Really put a dampener on my enthusiasm. Well, at least it can't be too long now.

Finally dinged 70, though. Wheee. Now I'm one of the big boys.

Avarice is definitely very ez via the caches method, just time consuming as you need 50 caches. You can solo Boss Mode if you have a decently fast moving build and a little preparation. Typically run the long and harder bosses first so you can reset if they go south. Adria being one of the worst, helpful if she has a bounty as well to kinda guide you.

To me the easiest conquests are :
  • Avarice (Kadin said it all -50 T13 caches are enough but be sure to stand still when you open it without your pet)

  • Boss mode : the 20 bosses in T10 (alone or multiplayer it's faster with a list shared between players). Personally I prefer to do it in duo, player 1 do all the bosses, player 2 don't, he's just here to do the path to the bosses during P1 is doing what he has to. Complete guide here.
  • Player One: Urzael, Diablo, Aranae, Butcher, Siegebreaker, Ghom, Azmodan, Maghda
  • Player Two: Adria, Malthael, Belial, Izual, Cydea, Skeleton King, Rakanoth, Kulle
  • Be sure to have Adria or Urzael on bounties to not waste time with a wrong direction.
  • The Thrill (GR45 without greenies) To me it was easy as a DH : multishot is so powered by the bow and the quiver that I just had to replace my stuff with almost random legendaries, with 300-400 parangon it's easy).
I don't know much about Barb, sadly. I can't help :( (maybe that can help ?)

Yeah I did Avarice, just need a second one now to progress.

Hmm. I didn't realize boss mode was soloable. Maybe I'll try that instead.

That or I'll just roll a demon hunter and hit 70 in like an hour in cow level. lol

I'm into the end game for the first time. Just been doing bounties and rifts, slowly getting better gear, been having fun.

What should I be doing with my green and legendary drops? During my 1-70 play though I just salvaged everything, keep doing that?

Also is the Rift loop that I just keep running normal rifts until I get the pass thing that allows me to do a greater rift? Rinse and repeat.

Anything else I should be looking out for?

Got my Wizard to 65. The DPS increase once you hit 60 is absolutely bananas. Like sub 60k to 1 million per hit. It's crazy.

Once I hit 70, I'm not sure if I'm just going to immediately start another character and just keep getting them to 70 for fun or do rifts. Maybe I'll start a Monk or Barbarian next.

Had arguably the best luck I've ever had in 2000+ hours of D3 today (and so early in a Season!) with these two:

bir0W5W.jpg

mNqLAmg.jpg

Hellfire with a used Passive and perfect Crit Chance and Crit Damage???? The funny part is I actually rolled and Ancient one with 9.5% CHC and vit I could have re-rolled into CHD, but the passive was Brooding which is useless. In the same batch I also rolled one with 750 dex, 9.5% CHC and Tactical Advantage which is a very very good runner-up. Fucking wild, I've rolled hundreds of Hellfires and never gotten anything this good.

The Yang's is also really great, not quite god-tier but very good and probably won't see an upgrade this season. Very, very happy.

I feel bad when I rift farm with non demon hunters because I just speed vault in front of everyone and kill everything first. I actually wait now for everyone to catch up so I'm not ruining everyones fun :D

I'm gonna gem of ease my way up to 70 on a different class...probably necro or wiz.

Pre-level 70, always play on a difficulty where you can clear enemies with little to no hassle. This is the phase of the game where you learn the ins and outs of your character and their skills, as they level up and unlock at a steady clip. Right now you're chasing after too much of a challenge for your current DPS/equipment. If you can't kill something on Expert, drop to Hard or even Normal. No point in chasing after, e.g., 2.5x more XP if it takes much way more than that the amount of time to kill mobs, after all. Craft a better weapon if you need to (remember to always break down equipment at the blacksmith rather than selling them) and go from there. After you hit 70, then you can try to push yourself.

I can certify that Demon Hunter Unhallowed Essence Multishot is a really powerful build and easy to gear. It's really easy to get started once you get the full set from the season and the power creep potential it has is astounding. You have to focus on max discipline bonuses from Chest, quiver and bow as a priority since each discipline point gives you 100% damage boost to multishot.

Each piece can have upt to +12 max discipline which means a massive 1200% damage boost. Then you choose the Invigoration rune for the Preparation skill which gives you another 20 permanent discipline boost. That means a total of a very hefty and easy 3200% damage boost.

You will be melting T13 and beyond in GRift easily in no time.

This build made the season challenges really easy. GRift 70 solo takes like 3 minutes, which is the highest GR level asked for in the season, and the set dungeon is also easy as long as you wear the illusory boots to position yourself before firing multishot.

Then the Conquests as said above aren't that hard either. Avarice is a no brainer since this season gives double caches, so do a full bounty run 5 times and open everything while standing still with no pet, then run around and boom, done.

Boss mode, which was all main bosses in 20 min was easy solo with a speed variant of this build, just changing de bracers to those that give you speed after breaking items and a passive to the one that gives you a speed boost after vaulting.

And Thriller, GRift 45 solo with no set items, also easy with the bow and quiver from this build.

Summing up, this build is fast, clears entire screens and is easy to gear and play. It's hard to farm on other builds (impale) or characters now.

This thing farms legendary items, materials and bounties like no other.

Thank you. To clarify i ramped up the difficulty to master from expert after a few hours. I may just drop it to expert and even hard if i'm not able to beat that specific enemy... i think he is mandatory for story progression too...

This game really is crack on digital form. Spent about an hour at 1AM sat on one cheek on the side of the bed so that my switch could reach the AC Adapter and I could try a new build before going to bed.

On another point, I'm kinda disappointed every time I try a sickle + off-hand build on my necro, I never manage to reach the damage I have with a big damage number two-hand sword ...

Are Normal or Greater rifts better for farming gear upgrades? My luck seems to be about the same for both.

I speed run normal rifts for death breaths and lengendary embers. That is for rerolling items or upgrading rares to legendary.

Gem upgrades and set items I usually go ahead and steamroll GRift 80. But it has to be a high GRift level and you have to be able to do it really fast for it to make a difference and be worth it VS normal rifts.

Does it matter if my monk uses fist weapons or not? The main animation is him punching, but it seems like it still works with swords and clubs equipped. Still not sure if I'm digging the class or not at level 20. None of the skills feel like they have much weight to them. I can't really tell how wide my kick is for instance. Also, is there a way to retarget enemies? Always seems like I'm targeting something on the other side of the screen when there's any enemy right in front of me.
