I'll make a poll here to see what people's go-to platform is. Your "default" platform for games when they're widely available.

PC, but if its not unavailable on there or has huge issues or uses a launcher I can't be fucked with then Xbox X.

Ps4 pro and Switch are only for exclusives.

Depends on the game. If it's trying to impress with graphics, whichever system it looks best on. If it can run on the Switch without looking/playing worse, easy pick for bonus portability.

I prefer my Xbox One X over my Ps4 Pro because of the elite controller and all the graphics jazz from the X

PC for most multiplats

Ps4 for some depending on where my friends are. No one plays on Xbox any more despite some of us owning an X.

Xbox One X for obvious reasons. Switch sometimes if I put a priority on portability for the game. PS4 Pro and PC are exclusive machines for me.

PC by far. Got a brand new rig hooked up to the TV in the living room with tons of controller options.

Switch still sees a lot of action. Any game that I feel works well on a handheld goes there, plus Nintendo exclusives obviously. I barely touch my ps4 anymore, though.

Indies - Switch
AA/AAAThird parties - going forward it'll be One X as it will usually be the best console version

PS4....i''ve gotten rid of my gaming PC since the mid-PS3 era. My switch is only for Nintendo 1st party. Never had a Xbox.

I own them all and buy the exclusives for each console. I bought all my multiplat games on PS4 til I got a One X. Now I buy them there. I don't have any sort of loyalty to any brand. Just buy the games on the console they look the best. I don't play on the PC As much as I used to. It's just easier and cheaper to play on consoles. Especially since family and friends bring theirs fairly often so we can play together.

PC usually.

But I'll choose other platforms depending on the circumstances. Like fighting games? Always PS4 this gen. That's where the biggest player base is and that's what system is used at tourneys. If it's a game that I'll be playing with a lot of friends? PS4 as well because that's where most of them are. Some indies or games that are better in short bursts? I''m getting them on Switch. That's where I got Hollow Knight and am getting VC4 on.

It was PS4 before I got any of the pretty mid-gen refreshes, but I definitely prefer Xbox One X now, even with recently purchasing a Pro.

PC, then X1X as an alternative. Switch is for exclusives and lower tech indie titles that run perfectly in portable mode, PS4PRO just for exclusives.

PS4. I got a Switch, a Pro, an OG Xbox One, and a 2013 Macbook Pro. Given my choices, I have zero reason to choose anything but the PS4 for 99 percent of multiplatform games.

Having recently bought a PS4 Pro, I'm struggling to play exclusives on it, let alone multiplatform games. I've been a PC-only gamer for almost two decades and going from 60+ FPS with MKB to ~30 FPS with gamepad is very rough. The concept of "smooth" 30 FPS seems particularly absurd as there's nothing smooth about it. As soon as you move the camera, it's very clear how not smooth it is. Also, aiming with analog sticks is pretty awful.

Mostly PC, because most games usually cheaper at launch on PC, and of course full control on how I want to play the game. I sometimes buy multiplatform games on PS4 if the physical copy is pretty cheap and I can resell after I'm done with the game.

Xbox One X usually (used to be PS4 Pro) as I can sell my games when I'm done but if that's not an issue then I'll go PC as I have a nice 1440p 165hz G Sync monitor and an OC GTX 1080.

I don't really have a preference, I think. Lately I have been playing most multiplat games on PS4pro though since my gaming PC is getting old and I don't feel like spending the money to get a new one right now. Still, I don't think I really prefer a platform, I just choose the platform that is most convenient/the game in question is cheapest on. As a result of that I mostly play shooters/crpgs/strategy games on PC and action games, jrpgs and vns on console.

My PC is really outdated at this point but it's still my first choice when possible. Forward compatibility is important to me.

PC or Switch depending on how I feel at the time or how badly I want that particular game on the go. But mostly PC.

PC.

Then Switch.

Then PS4.

Special exception for fighting games which, unless they have cross play, I'll go PS4 first.

X-Box One X. Better looking and running multiplatform games. My PS4 Pro has become an exclusives only machine. And for some reason I don't like playing most games on a PC. I've gotten much further playing Divinity Original Sin 2 on my xbox than I did on my computer.

I'm shocked Switch is trailing behind.

PC if not available on Switch
Switch -> PC -> PS4

I think most people are assuming that the game isn't available on Switch, or has something wrong/missing on a Switch version. The OP doesn't specify that an assumption must be made that the game isn't available on all given platforms and exhibits feature parity across all platforms. So I reckon that most are just assuming that the OP is asking people to judge the platform as it is.
