Bandai Namco recently trademarked logos for something called "Ninja Box" in Japan, which matches the design of the main visual. Furthermore, the URL to the teaser website includes the text "project-n.

Is this like another take on Minecraft?

Which would be great tbh. Dragon Quest Builders is charming.

Almost looks like it's some sorta of multi-media project Bamco's working on. If it is, I'll probably be in both for the anime and game.

I am kinda also getting Heybot! vibes from that above image, which was another Bamco multi-media project. Hopefully it'll be less insane than said show, because Heybot was... something else.

"nintendo fans seem to like Minecraft and everybody knows they love chibi characters. Do something "

Nah. Between this and Ninjala I cracked the code:

How to make a Switch exclusive

1. Take the most popular game of another system
2. Add Chibi/Kid Ninjas
3. ???
4. Profit

Can't wait for Monster Hunter World with little Ninjas, maybe Koei Tecmo can just reboot Toukiden?

Funny how one can see a block of essentially generic bricks and the first thought is Mario.

That Bamco executive is a genius. I have a Switch and I love chibis.
They remind me of 16-bit sprites but in 3D. Which is rad.

I don't like Minecraft though.
Dragon Quest Builders made it way more appealing to me by having a quest system instead of just throwing you in with no explanation.
My only problem with Dragon Quest Builders is there was no way to expand the size of your town naturally by just building out. You could do it but the game would only recognise the area it designated as the town. Which sucks because building rooms for NPCs is a cool idea. Let me make my town how I want to make it.
