It's sort of a subtle change to the setup. This version is like the person standing there has been imagining the fight for a while there, captivated and frozen in time. The other gets rid of the viewer and gets right into the action, but it's still basically them fantasizing about playing Smash.
Anyways, I really do think this was made just for the commercial.
If you two think it's fine then maybe I'm being picky. I initially thought it was cool though...
Ultimate Ridley already has a small head, then this alt gives it an overbite (which is more exaggerated compared to original Meta Ridley) and makes the torso bigger. Plus there's the new square toes instead of talons, and the long strip of metal they added to the side of his face. It's basically a new Meta Ridley design.
The texture and design of the metal pieces looks really nice, though. Looks better than the default in that area.
What the hell? Was this deliberate? Because it even has the release date shown at the end like it should... but in the part that shows the real world.
