Pretty sure today was the most disgusting Trump has been since getting office. Just not even trying to hide his disdain for the lives of others between this and the graveyard skip.

Just an irredeemable piece of garbage. Anyone supporting this should be fucking ashamed of themselves.

It's just beyond parody by this point. Every day brings another vile statement helping cement his claim to becoming one of history's greatest monsters. Fuck this cunt.

Well, I learned something today. I of course should not be shocked that Trump has presented his own "set of facts" on the matter.

I think I remember reading about the cuts to forest management; it's hard to remember stuff when there's some new scandal or breathtaking show of stupidity every goddamn day.

If he actually cared for this management, he probably would also take climate change seriously.

Trump views everything through a lens of wins and losses, with victimhood and blame firmly in the losses section. Whenever something bad happens his reaction is never "oh wow sorry to hear that." In part because he has no empathy as a human being, but also because his rigid/warped business mind views apologies as accepting blame. He won't offer sympathies because he thinks it makes it his fault. So he blames victims every single time.

This is also why he refuses to visit troops, greet caskets of soldiers returning home, etc.

Most succinct explanation of Trump's awfulness I've seen.

Statements like these would end the political career of almost anyone else. This man is untouchable. He's going to make a dictatorial move at some point and no one is going to do anything about it.

Edit: I contemplated this post for eight months, embarrassed and disgusted at the thought that this post represented me as a human. Wishing to hear news of a political figure you disagree with no longer being in office is one thing, casually using an act of terrorism as a joke towards said political figure is another, more toxic and uncalled for thing. I deserved my ban, no doubt, but all I wanted was a chance to apologize. I was coming from a very frustrated place and thanks to the reactions and the ban, I was able to see how my words made me no better than those elsewhere attacking AOC and other allies. I am not that person. I'd hope to partake in more productive methods of opposition like voting and speaking up with constructive criticism.

Blue Mountains
Clean the debris from the forests. Reason why they burn so quick is nothing is done with getting rid of dead dry stuff in the forests and building homes right up to the mountains without a fire gap.
I don't know if California is similar but where I live in the Blue Mountains in Australia, fire is a requirement for some species to grow and thrive. The rural fire service here has controlled fires in the cooler months so we don't get uncontrollable ones in the summer. The Aboriginal people managed the land with fire before westerners arrived. Even so we still get big fires once in a while, usually because the Rural Fire Service are refused funds to carry out the burns required, our local service have been trying to get burns done for the last two years and only been given clearance for the bare minimum, save on the budget now and hope when it comes back to bite you in the ass the other lot are in power. It is terrifying, we had to evacuate during the last big fires. We stayed until ash was falling around us, packed up the cars and headed out of the mountains. The worst part is waiting, I would sit up until the early hours watching it get closer and closer, only going to bed when it wasn't moving, jumping up whenever an alert went off on my phone. Fortunately they got it under control at the next village to us so we went back to a house, a lot of people didn't. Those fires were nearly 300,000 acres with 200 homes destroyed, and this is only because it's a very low population area, considering the much bigger population I can't imagine the devastation going in in California right now. The one amazing thing about it was how ready everyone was to help. A local Kennel took our 3 dogs and Cat free of charge, there was a constant train of Horse floats going up and removing animals for people to put them on safer land, every shop was providing refreshments free of charge for the fire fighters, and we had so many offers of places to stay. Makes you think maybe people aren't so bad... and then this orange fuck nugget opens his mouth.

Edit: and just so you're notified, ElectricBlanketFire, I've learned from this in my reflection as noted in my now edited original post. I tried coming across edgy in my post and unlike on facebook which consists of people who know me, my attempt to vent my frustration at this news painted me in a horrible light and looking at it in a new light showed me it really was ugly. I continue to improve my disapproval posts on social media to this day thanks to the ban and your reaction. I'm an overthinker and constintently keep my mistakes and flaws in my mind and being able to finally apologize really helps. Thanks and I'm sorry.

So if a major reason these fires are so bad is because the brush is allowed to grow and not burn naturally, would taking away funding for maintenance actually help in the long term? Bearing in mind that in the short term everything will basically burn like the inner circles of hell.

In the U.S controlled burns are sometime carried out but not to the extent that they should be. Where I live for example in Georgia, the wildlife management agency tried doing controlled burns in my area but had to stop after people complained too much about the smoke. These people would also blame the agency for not doing their job when a wildfire burns their house down.

Pitting the rest of America against California is an age-old strategic cornerstone of the GOP. I lived in that state for seven years and I couldn't even mention San Francisco to my father without him going on a hateful rant about Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein. He knows nothing about life in California and does not care to; the opinions spoonfed to him by talk radio and Fox News are all he wants. And he's certainly not alone.

This piece of shit doesn't care that people have burned and suffocated to death and are missing.. Or that an entire town is now gone. Everything is a dollar sign, even dead Americans.

How about you do everyone a favor and shut your fucking mouth for once. At least then people can grieve in peace instead of worrying that the president of the United States is going to punish them even further.. for being victims of a wildfire. I remember when our leaders used to at least attempt to comfort in times of tragedy.. even republican ones.

Worse than worthless. Disappear.

You two can remain in ignorance, but here is a 101 for you just in case.

.
I'm not sure where you're getting at here. I'm aware that forest fires are naturally occurring and also caused by humans (anthropogenic climate change, camp fires, etc.). In Northern Ontario, Canada fires are left to burn because they're good for the health of the forest. Mitigation is also important for preventing fires.

By the way, the other poster and I we're talking about the Trump supporter in the comments.

This doesn't mention anything about building more dam storage or that water is running off into the ocean.

I have no idea what you're trying to say. That article is informative, but it doesn't uphold the red cap's claims.

I think when his presidency ends one way or the other it'll be the biggest relief any political occurence will have made me feel. And I'm saying that as German who is not directly impacted and lived through the fall of the Berlin wall and our unification. The amount of stupidity coming from this man is too much to handle and it is literally gnawing at my sanity.

This guy is absolutely nuts. I'm still in shock that he is president but to say these things in outrageous. People are dying from this and he thinks that it is due to the people. O how I hope he has a slow painful death.

It's not too far off from what he was trying to do in Puerto Rico, which is to victim blame them for things the gov't is in charge of helping with and it helps that it's happening to people he either doesn't like or doesn't think are citizens.
