Didn't miss much it seems.

Sounds like they are saving most of their eggs that haven't hatched for next gen because well, they can't make games out of thin air.

Not so great for current owners but they are trying to push value with services like game pass and supporting current announced games as much as they can.

Microsoft are trying to look like the right outfit for next gen and who knows might get the game for current gen too along with PC support. It's not ideal or magic but what can you do, they messed up big time, left it late to turnaround and here we are. At least 3rd party and a few flagship games are around. Microsoft need to look like they care now or nobody will care when next gen rolls around.

People can be as disappointed as they want to be.

I'm not irked by that.

I'm talking about the concern trolling, conspiracy theories, casual racism and generally pessimism and negativity by people who couldn't care less just shitting up the thread.
If anything after finding the fans cringy at the beginning I ended up missing them at the end. At least they were memorable. Everything else in this event should have been a blog post. Remember, people wasted 2 hours on this.

To say Microsoft hasn't shown up this gen is in an understatment, the only time they aren't leaning against the ropes is when they have new hardware to drop. Buying an Xbox these days is akin to buying a car without seats.

Good to know I am wasting my time on the 900+ games I have on Xbox One.

Microsoft really hyped this up only for it to just be another episode of Inside Xbox really.

What were they thinking with that Larry Hyrb 'Black Friday Deals' bit too? It was so cringey and embarrassing.
What? That ad was amazing, but I gotta admit that the show, overall, was pretty boring and I don't really know what I could get excited about, everything was Game Pass...

Did Microsoft/Xbox honestly expect us not to call them out on their fake crowds, fake applause and heaven forbid, fake gameplay too? I needn't had to replay or even look that close to see that steering wheel wasn't plugged in (or at least wasn't working properly) when they went to the female presenter AND regular guy playing FH4. Come on Microsoft, really?

I just find it funny that Sony cancelled PSX because they didn't have anything to show and yet Microsoft here puts on their own fan show that's 2 hours long and yet, barely have anything to show. Should've just announced some of this stuff at the VGA guys.

Honestly, even with the Studio acquisitions, when will we see any of the companies bear any fruit? Considering they are both RPG developers and were acquired recently, it would take longer than a year right?

That Razer bit was sooooo dumb. Yo guys check out our new keyboard and mouse that's still not here lololol
Actually I thought that was interesting, my curiosity has been well and truly piqued.

If they've figured out a way to get M/K to a decent standard on a couch or similar, combined with the console support I'm so in.

Very, very bad show. I'd say worse than PSX 2017.

+ Game Pass additions.
+ 2 new studios (although not convinced on their quality).

- No new game announcements.
- No next-gen Scarlett news.
- No Sunset Overdrive for PC.
- No show for Battletoads, Ashen, Below, Cuphead DLC, or Ori 2.
- No Gears of War 5 showing in MEXICO.
- Underwhelming showing of Crackdown 3.
- Annoying crowd, manufactured applause.

Most of the "news" was casual blog post levels of excitement. Major Nelson said this would be "close to E3" - it was not even close to Gamescom or Paris Games Week level. With Sony bowing out of PGW and PSX, surely The Game Awards will save us.

Agreed for all except for Obsidian, imo they are talented

Dude. The concept already exists:

Among many other options out there.

People are allowed to be disappointed. I only caught a little but so don't really have much of an opinion on it, but I'm not seeing anything which other seemingly bad shows don't get.

I'm not talking about disappointment.

Disappointment is not toxicity. It's opinion, which is perfectly fine.

Why bother replying to me with this?

It was apparent from the jump what kind of showing this was going to be.

People chose to waste their time on something they didn't care for and shat up the thread instead of doing something else with their time.

Please stop making excusing for toxic behaviour.

Forza Horizon, Pillars Of Eternity, Hellblade, Wasteland 2 and such are now bargain bin games by low quality studios. Thee goalposts, they keep on moving.

Forza and hell blade are good I'm a Microsoft fanboy since 92 and I'm keeping it real ninja theory and playground are dope obsidian used to be dope but all the others are blah nothing to write home about something needs to shake over at Microsoft I won't cape for them anymore

A bit underwhelming to be honest considering we already had strong indications of the Obsidian deal but if we hadn't then the tone would probably be very different. Obsidian has made some really astonishing games and with Microsoft's backing hopefully they can leave the financial insecurity behind and focus on what they do best. This is huge.

I also foresee myself using Game Pass a whole lot in 2018/2019 and there were some great announcements for the service.

Not a great show but a very bright future for Xbox in my personal opinion.

As someone who is invested in their ecosystem, I thought that was great:

  • I have Game Pass and love it, obviously a big focus for this presentation.
  • I have XBL Gold.
  • I have an Xbox One X.
  • I have a capable game PC and love the Play Anywhere games syncing between both platforms.
  • Myself and my kids are heavy Xbox One users with the above services.
  • Big Forza Horizon 4 fan, and to finally get some DLC1 details was great, and it looks like it should be pretty good (although I won't lie, I had my fingers crossed for a true rally mode ;) ).
  • I'm actually interested to hear about the inXile and Obsidian acquisitions, RPG is my #1 genre and I adored both Wasteland 2 and Pillars of Eternity. Here's hoping we get PoE2 on Game Pass!
  • Hugely interested in upcoming Game Pass releases:
    • Mutant Year Zero
    • Void Bastards
    • Ori 1
    • Ori 2
    • Hellblade
    • Kingdom Two Crowns
I enjoyed the entire two hours, as did my son (we watched it together), and was excited about a number of announcements.

For the 16 Game Pass games, maybe it comes down to personal taste, but it felt like they blew it out with some real top tier stuff, and then the last of the titles were not landing the way I would have expected for the end of the show/list. Agents of Mayhem in particular, to be fair it's not my style of game and I do not know much about it. But my understanding was it was a bit underwhelming in terms of reception when it was new, and I sure didn't hear the crowd behind them screaming when they announced it coming to Game Pass. It feels like they should have ended with the heavy hitters like PubG, Ori, Hellblade.

Only disappointments were:
  • No Ashen
  • No Below
Both of those were last slated for 2018, so hopefully this is not a sign of a delay.

Loved the energy of the crowd, no time filling skits or anything like that, just games and trailers.

You already knew about Void Bastards yes?
- No next-gen Scarlett news.
You expected this? Really?! Come on now, don't be silly...
- No show for Battletoads, Ashen, Below, Cuphead DLC, or Ori 2.
Ashen and Below likely TGA, Ori 2 announced on GP at launch. Guessing you already knew that?
- No Gears of War 5 showing in MEXICO.
Gears 5 panel tomorrow, with Rod Ferguson.
- Underwhelming showing of Crackdown 3.
Looked pretty good to me, I expect nothing from CD3 would have impress ed you though....
- Annoying crowd, manufactured applause
OK Victor Meldrew.

The last X0 event before this, X06 had the announcements of Banjo Nuts & Bolts, Halo Wars, Bioshock and Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Talk about a downgrade.

I think you misread that tweet.

He was talking about the fact that he's going to live tweeting constantly.
When you say you're going to have tons of new announcements close to the level of E3 it sets expectations. Certainly, people were reasonable to have some expectations going into an X0 event with tons of new announcements. Thankfully I kept my own in check.

So people who is behind one of the most legendary games is not a big deal, just because it was leaked before? I don't know Sure I would wish that Chri Avellone would be back and make him the head od the studio, but these 2 acquisition is a huge deal, at least for me, who grew up games created by people in both studios. "No Below or Ashen", are you fucking kidding me, who the fuck cares about those games? Bargain bins studios my ass, more like the best studios which game industry has to offer in my humble opinion.

They have bad upper management from what I've read, and if Matt Booty is serious about letting them remain independent and not interfering with their culture, then that could only get worse as time goes on, but yes they have made some quality games.
