The game has 150m registered users in China btw, which is super impressive.
fuck yea lol
Wish I could see the appeal.. bought it and just couldn't get into it
$2.5bRemember when people thought Microsoft was crazy for paying $4 billion for Mojang?
How's the modding scene doing these days? I played back in the days of Feed the Beast, ATLauncher, Resonant Rise. Are there still quality mods out there? Would be fun to sink some time back into this with some friends.
Yeah, there are some pretty good ones plus some mod packs that are awesome. Feed the Beast is now intergrated into the Twitch desktop app (Yes, that Twitch) as Minecraft Mods, and it works pretty dang well too. Super easy to search what kind of mods you want in your world, and also super easy to enable and disable the mods. How's the modding scene doing these days? Don't know why this is news, it's one of the biggest media properties in the world.
Same :| Only played it with my daughter. Other than that I really don't even like the game lol
It's scratches the Lego itch in virtual form. Don't worry yourself too much if it's not for you.Sad part . I've tried multiple times... I'm like where is the fun?
They have skins, texture packs and some kind of custom maps or something. They also have realms which are private dedicated servers hosted by them.Has Microsoft not done anything to monetize the existing player base? They could be making so much money with micro transaction, some sort of premium subscription, or just release a ton of expansion like The Sims. It seems strange that Microsoft would pay so much for it, then do nothing with it other than port it to a bunch of different platforms.
It depends on what you play games for. Minecraft is all about making your own fun, instead of being told what to do.Wish I could see the appeal.. bought it and just couldn't get into it
Where can I find the ERA server? The ERA realm being so good ensures I will keep on playing. Thinking about getting it on iOS so I can play on my phone in addition to my PC and tablet.

I still feel like Minecraft shouldn't be under MS, they did not earn this beautiful thing that was created. But they've done right by it so, meh...if they are truly just trying to leverage the brand and don't care how you jump into the their gaming systems (through Xbox, PC, IOS whatever you can experience this game anywhere) then maybe they were the correct company to buy it.
If it was under Sony maybe it wouldn't be as open?? Definitely not Nintendo.

Minecraft is a great IP, but it is in a strange place for Microsoft. Namely it benefits most from being spread everywhere on every possible platform, and does NOT work as an exclusive title under Xbox.I still feel like Minecraft shouldn't be under MS, they did not earn this beautiful thing that was created.
