Should Shatter be remade for current gen consoles? [UP: Because of this thread, it will be!] [Up2: Coming Late 2022]

Will be a couple of months before we even have working builds as the game is initially getting ported from its PhyreEngine base to Unity. So, we won't be doing any press or anything for a while.

While I have a working PS3, having this on a modern console will be dope.

This is great news. I started playing the soundtrack and my 8 year old is pumped. I told him we'll buy it if it comes out on Switch :)
Sadly my PS3 is no longer around to play it there.
This atmospheric gameplay / music combo has me thinking I should actually pickup Tetris Effect in the meantime (I was going to pass ...)

Hah, great news. I was going through my Steam library last week and stumbled across this and played for a bit. Great game and well worthy of a port and hopefully a sequel. I'm imaging a VR experience.... hmmm.
Wow literally never even heard of this game, but this is an awesome story.
I used to love playing brickle back in the day and I'd definitely be willing to give this game a try
So happy for this! I played Shatter via PlayStation Plus and was surprised how much I enjoyed the game. I definitely buy the game on PS4 when it comes out :)
This is great news. Loved the original on PS3 and would definitely buy the remaster if there's an Xbox version.
Already have the Steam version, but would definitely double dip on Switch if we get a release for that. That soundtrack is GOAT tier.
I've actually used the Shatter OST image as my avatar on steam since forever. I don't remember who it was, but I actually had someone from the dev team contact me years back thinking that I was someone else from the team because they saw my avatar and just assumed that the only people that would actually use a Shatter image would be people that worked on the game. It was both incredibly cool and incredibly sad at the same time. :/

Thanks. I loved your game back then. I really hope you will support the new mid-gen consoles. There is no doubt that you can reach Native 4K so easily on them.
Please for PS4, support all DualShock 4 features: lightbar with all possible lights according to the bricks and frames and situations, touch pad for alternative controls, same for motion controls or for extra movements, monospeaker for special sounds like earning power ups or other things. That would add so much to the immersion. I hope you will consider this. Thanks.

1) local coop because every switch game needs it
2) that smash bros "hear the soundtrack while the sistem is on sleep" thing
I don't actually remember if the game has local coop already .... I played on pc a long time ago when I didn't had any good controllers =P

It does have a separate two player mode on the PC version.
Think we prototyped coop at one point for the Story Mode but it didn't really work given the nature of the controls and physics. Just kinda made everything chaos.
I play primarily on PC so it never crossed my mind that this game never made it to the new consoles. Glad it's going to get some fresh eyes on it, the game rules.
Whilst I know you have only just confirmed a current gen version, which is great by the way. I know nothing of the cost of producing a vinyl (or CD) for that matter, but if/when you do get around to release, etc. Perhaps you could also get in contact with the lads at LimitedRunGames? They've done a number of games with soundtrack options and it could be another additional revenue stream, it could be seen as an "easy" way to shift 2000-3000 copies of the game on PS4 and they have been doing open pre-orders for Switch games (if a Switch Version eventuates at some point).
Obviously, again I have no idea on the complex nature of the game business and the costs you'd be looking at for something like this, but perhaps an avenue to pursue at some point down the line. ;)

Oh wow. I loved Shatter. Always felt like it got looked over because at the time PSN games weren't really all that popular or as cool to play as Xbox Live Arcade games.
Shatter is a great game and I would love to see a sequel or port. Good to have one of the devs here ;). The game is just a perfect symbiosis of Soundtrack, Gameplay and Visuals.
Oh hell yeah! I'm glad we were able to nudge y'all into checking it out, and of course that it's even feasible. I'll be there day one.
