Got a call from my cousin today, I had no idea she lived in Paradise. She said they lost everything, their entire home burned down :(
...apparently Town Hall and a school are all that is left standing.

Watching these interviews of these escapees...

Holy shit, imagine your entire house with all your things and documents burned down. Like, what the fuck do you do.
Secure them with a safe. But I don't how well they can handle wild fires.

I'm fairly confident my cousin will be fully insured, but it's wild how I know someone this is affecting. I honestly had no idea she lived in this area, I remember seeing this topic yesterday right before bed and thinking how awful.
My brother-in-laws entire family still lives there. They are devastated.

A friend of mine lives in Malibu and whole city have been told to evacuate.

My trainer's aunt lives in Paradise and she had to evacuate.

Then my trainer had to evacuate at 2AM this morning because she lives in Westlake Village.

Fucking shit Santa Ana winds.

The sky right now is completely filled with smoke, and there's an eerie glow from the sun from behind the layers of smoke.

It looks like the sun is setting outside, and it's not even 1pm yet.

This is all happening in the East Bay, so I can't even imagine how bad it further north closer to the fire.

Stay safe everybody.

I could see this this morning, headed south from Roseville from the I-5 and there was smoke visibly all the way down to kettleman

The sun right now is literally giving off a run light, or at least attempting to through all those layers of smoke.

Can't even look in the direction of the sun because of how blinding it is.

From the thread title. I would hate to think the title is wrong. If so there will be hell to pay.

My mom mentioned the cause a couple of times. So where this information coming from?

I'm going to ask her that when she comes back.

I am in the fire zone and I have been monitoring emergency channels. I have not heard anything about the cause of the fire. That is secondary to rescue and containment, so we will probably not know for weeks. Anything you heard is misinformation most likely caused by the name of the fire.

Oh God did anyone else see that video that Old Man took with his phone? Walking around to see people he knows, who didn't make it? Telling their last moments during the fire.

Shit is surreal. Looks like a movie set. Nothing nasty (I don't like to watch nasty shit, Faces Of Death traumatized me and I was done with that shit in the 90's).

But the video is people he knew burnt up to bones. He's just walking around talking. You can tell he's in shock yet pissed off. :/

It was just uploaded today on Youtube under Camp Fire.

My heart breaks for the people affected, but even more so for pets and animals that were left behind or not able to escape it :-/

80 football fields a minute is one of the most frightening things I've ever read

That's more than 1 football field per second. What the fuck kind of fire was this? It moves like a missile!

I wouldn't live in this part of California by choice. It seems like eastern and Northern California is constantly having fire scares.

It's terrible how quickly this happened.

I work for a trucking company that delivers all over California. Had a delivery Thursday in Paradise that I forgot to assign. Fuck must have missed that in the grid. Whatever my fuck up absentmindedly push it to Friday. Send an email to all stores. Come in early today holy fuck so glad we didn't have someone there. If that's not a God thing I don't know what is.
