I'm a massive fan of The Witcher 3, but I don't know anything about the Gwent standalone game or Thronebreaker, so having said that, is it ok for me to get Thronebreaker on Steam or will I miss out on something substantial? I don't have an account with GOG. I don't mind signing up, but out of pure laziness and mild OCD, I'd rather just have all my games on Steam.

Sunset Overdrive is another bland open world game of the era with tons of horde style hold the point missions and forgettable characters that has a unique art style that disguises the guns and lots of particle effects. And a truly god awful sense of humor.

And sure you can zip around but traversal opinions didn't make all those ps3 era Amazing Spider-Man games good either, tho you can slap the shit out of wolverine in one of them

delta rune is really good, i need to keep playing it but i've loved what i've seen so far

the few tweaks to the combat system really give it the little bit of depth it needed

This song used to come all the time on a game music radio I occasionally listen to and boy do I hate it.
It's terrible.
aww that's too bad, i love it :p

Any Fidel experts online here?

Not really a PC gaming question but I'm sure some people may be able to chime in; is MalwareBytes Premium worth the cost over the free version?

Mt. Whatever
Started Swerry's new "Ths Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories."

I don't normally like games that are strictly Puzzle/Platformer, but this one is nice so far. Very atmospheric, interesting story, and a trust in Swery's previous works keep me going forward. It's very pretty and surreal at times. Solving puzzles via self-mutilation is bizzare but leads to oddly interesting solutions.

Kotaku: "transgressive and shockingly frank in talking about LGTBQA+ issues"
Metro: "surreal mix of coming of age drama and genuinely creepy survival horror"
Destructoid: "brave, subtle, and at times cruel ... adventure featuring gorgeous animation, affecting visuals, and stomach-churning sound effects"

I'm not far enough to verify this praise, but I can see it starting to form. If I had one complaint it's maybe that the voice-acting is sometimes a bit too... "fake" sounding if that makes sense? "Phoned in" might be the right expression. Otherwise though, hell yeah I really like it so far! Thankfully also it has full controller support, even on initial launch when you have to configure graphics/audio/controls.

Edit: I think fans of Oxenfree and LiS should keep it on their radar/check it out. :)

well, point for you, I did read "cheaper" for some reason, sorry...

but how should I know you mean a specific price region, thats of course BS if Thronebreaker is overpriced for you

Microsoft keeps burning in some god damn activate windows message into my screen because I switched motherboards but their service is down.

Where is my Stubbs the Zombie?

That's one of the first games I ever worked on! Spent multiple days with Alex Seropian. Really great guy.

Ugh, I had a playthrough 20 hours into Tyranny that I got through Twitch's giveaway spree a few months ago and I'm trying to get back into it, but I had to reinstall Windows in the interim and all my saves are gone.

For future reference, I'm assuming there isn't a way to get Steam's cloud saves to work for non-Steam games, right?

so Darksiders 3 shouldbe "safe" to buy even if youre rif is on the older side now right? I mean, looking at videos of it, it looks exactly like Darksiders 2, hell, if not less so (there seem to be less enemies on screen for one), so if one ran that game fine we should, in theory, run DS3 fine aswell.

The way it looks - should run on pentium 3.

Yeah, it's probably not terribly demanding.

Maybe, but probably not. Gunfire also handled the Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders 2, and it runs notably worse than the original release (or did at launch, at least).

Edit: Plus it doesn't seem like 3 will be 60fps on the Pro/X. Nordic was asked about that point-blank and danced around the question:

Deathinitive Edition (which is the worst name ever and whoever came up with it was most certainly Australian) ran fine for me /shrug

Ah. Well, 3 seemingly not being 60fps on the higher-tier consoles isn't encouraging. Also, I hope Nordic eventually remasters Kingdoms of Amalur and titles it Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Amaluremastered Edition.

it's not that it didn't run fine for most users. the problem with it is that is barely has noticeable differences, but runs far worse. for example, uncapped, the original release would run at 150fps on x pc, while the deathinitive edition runs at 90 or less.

I have Stubbs on Steam, but it's apparently unplayable today due to technical issues, which is probably why they removed it from sale. It's a damn shame.

I was always upset I never bought it on pc. I really miss the wacky games like that came out of nowhere.

I worked on motion capture for that game. We hired a guy who worked at haunted houses as monsters. He played Stubbs and possibly other characters.

I just remember I was so shocked because one I was new to the industry so seeing how stuff like that was made was fascinating as back in the day it was rarely shown.

Second, this dude was amazing, he made all the noises too and really got into the character, despite the fact noises would be cut as audio would handle that in post.

Third with just how chill Alex was. He had just left Bungie and returned to Chicago to do his own thing. No ego , over lunch he would discuss all these crazy game ideas he had. Really was great to see that even industry veterans were just like me, just a huge fan of games and creating them.

To this day I'm still like who has a career scaring people in haunted houses and how did my boss at the time even find him? What did this guy do during off seasons? How did he perfect zombie grunts? So many questions lol.
