Thread is more of a springboard to share awesome credits songs lol. You'll see I haven't actually contested any entry :P
Well then, in that case, I'll add one.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has a rather impressive soundtrack overall. But after a game where the music ranged from epic to powerful with a dash of weird thrown in for the final boss, what could they do for the credits? Not the Fire Emblem theme, this is a Fire Emblem Gaiden remake, it doesn't do that.

So instead, we get this:

A slow ballad sung by a somewhat minor character in the game, of course. Silque singing one of Mila's songs, showing that the divine Earth Mother dragon knew exactly what was going to happen from the start. It's a sad song, but also one of hope.

And after bold epic music like the final map, and various boss themes, it is an unexpected choice to basically have a sad ballad at the end. Unexpected, but not unwelcome.

Pain from Xenosaga Episode I is way way better

As well as:

Zero from Bump of Chicken (FF Type-0)
Melodies of Life FFIX
I really liked Kimi Ga Iru Kara from FFXIII tbh (and New World for XIII-2)

Play RDR2. Some of the best credit and pre-credit music ever made, and this is after the first one set such a precedent.

Not saying they're the best but some of my favorite ones are:
Simple and Clean (Kingdom Hearts)
This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars (Dragon Age Origins)
Weight of the World (Nier Automata)
Also Silent Hill 1 and 2 had awesome credit songs from what I remember.

Gonna mention the utterly baffling credits theme for Jake's Story in Resident Evil 6

That's a great one, I love the version from the Flowers of Enchantment album released earlier this year.

For me it's Persona 5. That was the first RPG I beat where I was legitimately sad to say goodbye to the characters

My favorite is Weight of the World from Nier Automata. The way the credits play out is nothing short of magical. But, it's already been mentioned a few times so I'll go with Shadow of the Colossus as another credits song I really love. You can't go wrong with posting a song from SotC.

I also love the ending song from Streets of Rage 2. Can't go wrong with SoR music either.

As much as I love Simple and Clean from Kingdom Hearts...

The only track with lyrics, as you float away back over your "Journey". Beautiful.

It's actually this, from Tales From the Borderlands.

Or this, from Life is Strange.

Or really anything but the song in the OP.

I really love SMRPG's end credits, it's mostly a medley but it's so happy and sad at the same time. Also shows off the range of early Shimomura.

Until Nier Automata "Beyond the Sky" was my favorite credit song because of the impact it left on me after playing Xenoblade Chronicles. But "Weight of the World" and all of its versions is even better.

My mind immediately goes to Bastion whenever anyone mentions end credits songs:

Feels super unique for any piece of media to meld two separate songs you've been hearing through the course of the narrative to create something entirely new that resonates in a completely different way.

Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross.

To far Away Times from Chrono Trigger.

Both these songs make me genuinely emotional.

I've mentioned this before but the Prog God work of Limiter-Off Sakuraba is a wonderful thing:

The whole era was wonderful for Filmic and Arcadey striding purposefully and proud, arm in arm, into a new age of great synthesis:

I love the Xenoblade 1 OST, there's two tracks that stick out to me as not being my jam.
And that's one of them! Gives me them "I am the Wind" and "Dream" vibes from Symphony of the Night and Nioh respectively, where I get what it's going for but it's just a bit too much for me

Each to their own though, I did grow to like Drifting Soul from XB2 eventually.

yes, also would be willing to bet half the people in this thread didn't play the game, so naturally it will devolve to "No this is my favorite".

Not even close.

I don't know which one is among the best. Haven't really thought about it.

You meant Here's to you right ?

Yeah, this. Or any MGS or Kojima game by that matter. Kojima just has the best taste in music. Even Death Stranding has great songs.

This reminds me that this is one of my favorite openings with the same song,

Team Trauma / Hospital 6 credits song is amazing,

but if you are able to play the game, please do so and hear the song there, as intended >:V

and don't read the YouTube comments, spoilers
actually, hear this on incognito mode or whatever so YT don't throw you a gigantic spoiler in a thumbnail
I'm still hopeful this will come out on Switch somehow someday!

NieR: Automata has the best End Credit song of all time. here's the english version, there's 3 other versions. the chorus one is the best but i dont want to post because i cant find it without spoilers.

Or NieR Automata (don't watch if you don't want spoilers.)

Weight of the World (Nier Automata)

NieR Automata is the GOAT, sorry OP.
