Tetris Effect -- Review Thread

I played Breath of the Wild. It's just Zelda guys.
There are lots of new mechanics and a killer soundtrack to get lost in as you stack blocks. You can switch pieces, there is a new focus meter. Etc. Read the reviews. It is ok if the game is not your cup of tea but at least read up on it before just dismissing it as more of the same.
I agree with scores! This game is like crack! Game got me all fuck up after I took my headsets (PSVR) off in a good way.
I remember people complaining when this game was presented on the week before E3 as "it's just fucking Tetris", "Why are they showing this?" and things like that. It seems they knew they had something good on hands

I've played most every version of Tetris. This blows them all away. Even Puyo Puyo Tetris. So yes, I'd say it's great even without VR.

I've tried VR a few times and Tetris Effect is the only game that makes me want to buy my own headset. I am not the person to convince you not to do it.
This is way better than Tetris DS. And Tetris DX. And both of those were amazing games.
Enhance had said they wanted to but they have to make mixes for the songs as everything progresses as you play.
The game is "just tetris" but it's "just tetris" done so damn well, with so much care taken into the audio and visuals that kept me up til 2AM plugged into my PSVR and having to be at work at 8. Now I'm counting down hours until I can jump back into it.
You can also change the nutty colored themed blocks of each level to use classic tetris blocks, and they've never looked better. So damn colorful.
Best puzzle game of the year then right? (Some reviews are even saying Game of the year. Damn!) I feel like this year didn't have many puzzle games released.
Nahhh there were so bad onces here and there (of course I'm not talking about the OG one on Game boy), but Tetris Effect looks amazing. Can't wait to play this on PSVR :)

Oh you mean games? yeah, there have been very shitty ones. Didn't Ubi released one that had lag/framerate issues? Like come on.

Ubisoft's Tetris game this generation was an abomination and everyone involved with it should feel deep shame for allowing it to be released.
