Former first lady Michelle Obama discusses her dislike of President Donald Trump — as well as personal details of her life before and during her time in the White House — in her highly anticipated memoir, "Becoming," The Washington Post reported Thursday.

Obama says she would "never forgive" Trump for the rumors he spread questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama's American birth certificate, which she said threatened her family's safety.

"What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls?," she wrote, according to the Post, which obtained an early copy of the book. It will be released next Tuesday. "Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family's safety at risk. And for this I'd never forgive him."

Trump responded to Obama's book Friday morning, telling reporters: "She got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always expect a little controversy."

He added that he would never forgive her husband Barack Obama "for what he did to our US military."

"I'll never forgive him for what he did in many other ways," Trump continued. "What he did to our military made this country very unsafe for you, and you, and you."

Obama continued, writing that the movement was "crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed. But it was also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks."

Considering his rhetoric ended up with a pipe. Mob being sent to the obamas, I can't blame her.

Trump and people like him are stains on humanity and they always want to have that built in deniability so they don't have to take responsibility for the things they say. "I didn't tell them to do that!" No, but you lot the fire and started handing out gas cans and matches.

Endangering them now, and also endangering their secret service agents assigned to protect them.

I didn't honestly expect anything less from Trump's response, but it's still infuriating.

Fucking malignant idiot.

I wouldn't either if I was Michelle. Especially since just recently a Trump-loving troglodyte sent a poorly made bomb to their home.

I don't read books all that much, but I'm seriously considering purchasing this just to see an inside perspective of the Obamas' time at the White House.

It took a lot of strength for her and her family to put up with all that crap for 8 years.

And this book was probably finalized before the whole pipe bomb stuff happened. That should absolutely be an addendum or something to showcase how even 2 years later people are still going crazy over them.

Considering they were sent a pipe bomb just a few weeks ago, she's clearly right. Funny thing is that she was probably done writing this book before that even happened.

It went back to lifetime secret service protection for all ex-president's with the Former Presidents Protection Act of 2012.

I could be wrong, but I think that changed. I believe it is now 10 years or so after their presidency ends. I believe the Clintons were the last ones to receive it for life.
Technically, this didn't affect anyone. Obama signed the Former Presidents Protection Act of 2012 which returned lifetime SS protection for Bush and every President to follow.

Not America
The birther conspiracy movement was a naked display of racism and xenophobia and that ought to have been a massive red flag even before all the other scarlet monuments of sin and warnings. But alas, mostly white, christian Americans felt compelled to sympathize and empathize with this man.

I didn't think they could be more blatant but then they made it even more clear when they didn't give a shit that Ted Cruz was born in Canada.

It's so infuriating how vague Trump's attacks are. Michelle Obama addressed a very real concern she faced as direct result of Trump, but all he can do is ignore her criticisms, instead reverting to some baseless claim without any semblance of substance behind it. I'd really like to know what Obama did to the military that made our country so unsafe...

EDIT: see above lol

Please let's have other people in political circles start punching back as well, besides her, Waters, Schiff and a few others.

I don't understand how people like Trump can be so soulless and cruel. Like I literally don't comprehend it, it's like they're entirely fueled by hatred. Are him and his supporters sociopaths or something?

Considering Trump's yet to actively visit troop's overseas, that military comment comes off as extra ridiculous. What a fucking infantile shithead. Forever a fucking child.

And I will definitely be reading this when it releases.

No they are racists. Trump doesn't see the Obama's or any other minorities as people.

In their twisted mind he is truly doing nothing wrong.
