You're better than me. I fell apart fairly often at speed 7 (from the demo). I probably won't get this until 6 months from now or so I guess, too much stuff in the backlog, and will wait for a price drop.
Wanted a quick 20 mins play before bed ended up playing for 2 hours. Walking to work now absolutely shattered but we'll worth it.

Love the game. Played the demo and loved it, had pre ordered it before that and was completely satisfied with the first experience. Tried the full game yesterday and it felt great even though the music from new levels were a bit more "boring" (but the effects matched them perfectly so it was still nice). Will play some more later this weekend since I have visits at home right now. Btw, I ended up getting thenmusic sampler even though it didn't say anything about it in the pre order page - need to check if I got the dynamic theme as well.

It's mostly muscle memory after a certain speed.
Anyone know if this goes up to Grand Master speeds?
Normal modes only hit about 1G or so at level 15.
There is a Master mode under Effects that is 20G the whole way (with its own speed levels) and I'm guessing the end of that mode gets stupidly fast (as the M speeds seem to reduce the lock delay as the level goes up, as it can't increase gravity any further).
I actually like none vocal, percussion base level more. Like you said, the hit sound effects is so damn sanctifying.
Damn, they reset all the scores and avatars? Oh well I guess. I won't have time this weekend to play but soooon.
Hope they patch it so you can have the song transition into the next song. Don't like being taking out of the game even though it's only a few seconds .
The game is wonderful. I played through Area 5 with some of it in VR and some on my TV. It really looks and feels amazing.
Quick question... why do the blocks sometimes speed way up mid-level, but then calm down again after a bit?
As much as I loved the demo and would like to dig in. I'm going to hold out for a better price. I have too much to play as it is and 40 is just too steep for me. At 20-25 it will be a no brainer for me.

Jeez, that's TGM Death speed, yikes -- pieces look to be locking after 200-250ms or so? Good luck anyone trying to complete the mode.

I think this is really important! If you have 4K HDR then putting brightness up to 10, changing the zoom level to as zoomed in as possible, there's also a "brilliance" you can set to 'max'. It doesn't shine so much on the default brightness but it looks absolutely goddamn amazing on brightness 10 and it doesn't mess with the blackest black levels at all like other games.
Anyway, played for a couple of stages at midnight in the UK -- it didn't save my demo scores -- and I noticed the Effect mode had a bunch of level 10-20 people floating around the globe. A bunch of eager Aussies and Japanese folk I guess?
the price is fine for the game, really many modes, near infinite replayability and the effects will blow your mind
indeed, that is how you make an evergreen title fresh again. i love it!
I mean it goes without saying that value is generally the eye of the beholder, and a € means different things depending on your context, as a dependent teen / in college this would have been tough to justify at full price, so I totally get those who are turned off the price.
i think the weekend/weekly ritual is something like an weekend event where the playerbase must achieve a specific amount of points together and are getting rewarded with like a new avatar and stuff.
and you can see in a list how to get other avatars...choose "effect modes" and press triangle
I think IQ is a little better in VR in the final release, but not a really noticeable change (maybe I'm imagining it).

Theater Mode where you can watch the stages without the playfield and you can cause effects/advance the stage by button presses.

the only thing i want to see patched is a "keep the playfield zoomed in" option...holy shit, why do i have to adjust the playfield again when i retry a stage? throws me off every time..
In the options, there is a choice to keep the play field zoomed in.
