Update:

The full count may still take days to complete, but this was a race that some people had given up on on election night.
Latest polling numbers released from the Secretary of State's office shows Kyrsten Sinema has taken a slight lead over Martha McSally in the race for Arizona Senate.

As of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sinema has 916,380 votes statewide, while McSally has 914,369.

345,000 votes remain uncounted in Maricopa County while a small number of ballots remain uncounted as well in smaller counties.

...

It is one of the most-watched races across the country: will Martha McSally, a Republican, or Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, serve as Arizona's first congresswoman?

Both are vying to fill Sen. Jeff Flake's seat after Flake's announcement in 2017 that he would not seek re-election.

...

Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes expects ballot counting to continue for several days. Officials will continue to update the results daily at 5 p.m.

This would be great if dems gain back a senate seat. I would await the Trump press conference where he says this is now even better than before.

Maricopa went blue so I would imagine the rest of the votes will widen the margin for Sinema. A win here definitely makes the Senate more doable in 2020.

100% he'd state all this is "election tampering" and will cry foul. "Elections were on the 6th and ENDS on the 6th! No recounts or extension on counting ballots... unless it helps Republicans. But if helps Democrats, NO, that's against some laws, or something... BIGLY!"

As I posted in the other thread
Sinema seems like a lock now. They processed 129,757 Ballots with around 340,000 Left. Sinema took around 57% of the vote total. Most of the remaining ballots are from Maricopa County which should continue to break in Sinemas direction.

Taking Arizona will make 2020 a lot easier for Democrats Senate chances.

47-53 would actually be a godsend for 2020. 48-52 would be even better if nelson can pull it off in the end.

That doesnt matter, no one expected to get the senate back. Many wanted it, but it was a wish that got demolished the second centrism dems started to fall apart.

A 52/48 senate is great for 2020, picking up Maine and the other AZ seat would tie the score.

It still helps. And it sure would be a spark that dems need right now.

But it totally changes the Outlook for a possible Dem president in 2020. Could be the difference between a Dem majority or not getting anything done for 4 years.

Stems the bleeding enough for a much less steep climb in 2020 though.

Please make it happen!

That ship has sailed.

It's now about making a 2020 flip possible, and limiting the Gop hold on Senate.
I know I just assumed user thought there was a chance to get the Senate.

This means we had a net loss of 1 seat in the Senate. Considering how awful the map was for Dems, this is a massive victory.

Net loss of 2 if nelson loses

We only picked up nevada and potentially arizona

But having that seat in arizona is fucking massive and the next time we would defend it would be a presidential year
