What Do You Think Of The British Voice Acting In Xenoblade Series?

I like it just like in Dragon Quest. Keeps things fresh.

never been a fan of the voice acting in most of the operation rainfall titles

As a Brit, I don't really care for them as they are nothing special as they are something I hear everyday.

With Xenoblade 1 I couldn't stand them and switched over to Japanese audio, with Xenoblade 2 they seemed to be okay with Pyra being good. It's just Rex that sucks.

I turn it to Japanese.

I actually really lilw it, they sont have to adhere to it but I find it kinda refreshing when most Voicing is done by well known VAs. It allowed lesser known VAs to get a chance also

I think it gives some of these dubs a personality that they may not have had if they were recorded in the US.

They vary from great to just downright bad.

Liked it in X1, didn't like it so much in the second game.

Overall quite good, with some stand out performances(Adam Howden, David Menkin). There's some lines that don't come off too well in Xenoblade 2 and Al Weaver does a great job in the understated, emotional lines but was either incapable or unwilling of doing a good yell.

Xenoblade x wasn't done by a British studio, hell those are all Americans mate,

I think it adds a sense of charm almost entirely unique to Xenoblade, even if that wasn't the original intent. I especially like the strange mix of British and American voice acting in XC2. Anyone who changes the dubbing to Japanese was probably not going to like the English dubbing either way.

I like Xenoblade 2's variety of British accents but felt Xenoblade 1 was more consistent in its direction. Either way they're both really refreshing and are up there with my favourite dubs, especially Xeno 1.

I like them, even if the voice acting itself isn't always great.

1s voice acting was much better but that's also due to better characters and voice directing. The VA in 2 is atrocious, even if Morag and Zeke are pretty good actors, Rex, Nia and Tora really drag it down. It's not really the voice though, just the godawful direction and delivery. For the American accents in 2, Pyra was alright but Mythra was terrible.

I enjoy them both immensely.

Shulk's VA in particular was really great. I was... really feeling it...

I wasn't a fan of the voice acting in the first game but I actually really liked it in XBC2. I liked how different regions had different accents and all the Blades were American. I've heard so much hate for Nia's voice but I fucking LOOOOVE it so much.

I fucking adore how there's different accents on each Titan in XC2.

Fighting a Urayan soldier and having him yell "Strewth!" in an Aussie accent put a cheesy grin on my face.

Nia's voice is the sound highlight of the generation.

Can't get enough of the ham myself. lol

I love the British voice work (being a biased Brit myself). It gives the series a unique personality to me.

Terrible, almost as bad as Breath of the Wild.

I thought the British actors were uniformly excellent. The Americans were generally good, too, although I didn't like Mythra's voice acting.

fuckin terrible. the dialogue and the british tone to the charaacters didnt match right. So ear grating.

The fact that it sounded better than BOTW says alot.

Stopped playing because of it.

I enjoy it, it's fun to hear Welsh and Scottish accents in an anime as fuck game.

The only problem in Xc2 was Rex's voice actor having trouble emoting, I think thee only scene where he somewhat sold it is near the end.

I enjoyed it. Different accents for different countries were more noticeable than Japanese dialects.

While I don't use them as an example to say that NoE's localization efforts are always better than NoA's, I think the accents have definitely given a unique identity to the series. I suppose it doesn't hurt that the copious presence of battle quotes makes lines become running gags (e.g. how many times was "feeling it" referenced in 2?) That could be annoying to some, but it's nice that quotes from characters like Reyn, Nia or even grunt soldiers have a following that they might otherwise have not gotten.

I love it, but I also just really like British accents (as an American). Plus it comes across as pretty unique when the large majority of VG dubs are done by Americans.

XC1 and 2 use British VA. XCX uses American VA because the cast is American in-game.

Rex's screaming was tough at times, but I thought his general performance was great. His banter with the cast and some of his more sombre moments were well done.

Al Weaver does a decent job considering he's about 20 years older than Rex is meant to be.

It's great to hear British accents in a game that aren't either generic cockney or "posh." Nia being Welsh in XC2 was awesome, it's an accent I've heard only once before in gaming (The Cat Lady, so not exactly a big JRPG like XC2). However, like all VA it can be mixed; from what little I played of XC2 I didn't really like Rex's acting and I don't particularly think XC1's was amazing either.

Now the next game needs to go all the way and have characters speaking in the thickest Liverpudlian and West-Country accents possible. I don't care if it'll scare some Americans off, it'd be too great to not have. Just imagine a party member sounding like he's a 'The Wurzels' member and tell me that isn't something that needs to happen.

It was just fine... it's not like anything in jRPGs implies "American" except in rare cases (Maybe FFXV deserved American voice actors, at least in the countryside).

Sadly, the voice acting in XB1 was way better than the sequels. X and 2 I played with Japanese voices because I found the dubbed VA very grating.

I like everyone (in XC and XC2) except for Rex. Not sure what it is about his voice acting, but I just can't stand him.

Though, tbh - I don't like his Japanese voice much either.

Nia is fantastic in both English and Japanese.

I really loved it. Nia and Morag were amazing, and I loved Rex as well despite some problems with his yelling, although he nailed some of those too like at the end of chapter 6. Gave the game a lot more personality.

It's great for the large part.

I really like it. I think the emphasises the class relationships between the characters in a way that's lost when American accents are used.

Love it, even if XB2's voice acting was very rushed to hit release date. The use of various accents to distinguish people from different fictional countries is a fantastic idea and adds a ton to the game. Probably the most meaningful dub, in terms of how it impacted my experience with the game.
