Also I know we have a lot of JRPG fans in here as people always talk about how Xbox needs Japan games.

I posted before that Shinji Hashimoto followed Xbox on Twitter. Now he has retweeted Xbox's countdown tweet.

Interesting! Could be something new, or it could just be related to Kingdom Hearts 3 being there. I'm hoping for something new! (Really something old as I just want ports)

Sunset Overdrive 2 brehs

cant help but think the pc port (and hopeful x patch) are to guage reactions and interest for the possibility of a sequel. sunset overdrive is really special and unique. a true classic in every sense of the word. i'd die for a sequel.

He didn't move on because a) he wanted to fix some stuff up, especially related to the story, b) square didn't want him to
"square didn't want him to" Square only finally stopped money hatting him last month, otherwise it would've continued 1 or 2 more years with more goofy cross-overs with let's say Noctis on Gears Tactics and other abominations like FFXV Pocket Edition or a third season pass.

Seriously, I think that it's the worst GaaS attempt ever, it just doesn't fit and it had to come to an end.

Could someone explain to me the appeal of Tabata? All I remember about him is the drama surrounding Tabata's and Nomura's visions for FFXV, and a bunch of people claiming Nomura is the best and that Tabata ruined the game.
He's directed some pretty cool games like Crisis Core, Type-0, and came in to save the Final Fantasy XV production and got it out the door.

From the sounds of it, Tabata already has something big planned. I doubt its for Microsoft(With Phil Spencer visiting Japan recently, you never know though), but I do hope its for a good publisher. It definitely doesnt sound indie. I find it interesting that he says "I think", as if nothing is concrete. Somebody must have approached him about a new job, something better than what he had within Square Enix. He also says we, and not just himself.

"The next project I want to do is a completely new IP," he told us then. "I think it's gonna be a very large-scale project based around everything we learned and developed for Final Fantasy 15."

Thanks gents. Most of what I was finding were angry GameFaqs posts... I'd love to see what he could create leading a team from the beginning of development with a decent AAA budget.

Can't believe there's only 2 days left till X0. If Phil and Co. can grease some palms to get more Japanese titles on Xbox and Game Pass, I'd love to jump back in.

I might be one of the few but I really liked Type 0, way more than ff15.

It pains me to find type 1 super unlikely now.

Mixpot giveaway for a obsidian item set that has been in the game since launch but people are trying to make a dumb connection with Obsidian Entertainment.

It's really not that dumb considering the rumours around the Obsidian acquisition.

If you've never played SoT, that's a fairly obvious connection to make.

I have no idea what to expect from XO18 anymore, but it does seem like Microsoft is making a ton of fan-service-y announcements.

-Microsoft announcing at least 12 new games for Game Pass is crazy. I wonder if there's a possibility of getting one of the major, upcoming, third-party AAA games launching on Game Pass? If Microsoft could get one of the games they have a marketing deal with (DMC 5, Fallout 76, Metro: Exodus, or Sekiro) to launch on Game Pass, that would be a huge win for them. I know, it would be expensive, I think Microsoft could make a compelling argument to get the price down, though. I also think it'd be interesting concept if Microsoft partially funded a new game with the idea that it launches on Game Pass and they get the marketing rights (Splinter Cell seems like a natural fit for this.). That could replace the dreaded "timed exclusive" they've done in the past. Ori and the Blind Forrest, Forza Motorsport 7, Forza Horizon 3, and Hellblade seem like obvious "big additions" they could make, but they've oddly seemed reluctant to add those games to this point, because they could have been amazing announcements at E3. For example, "We've acquired Ninja Theory and you can get their latest game, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrafice today on Game Pass." Maybe there's some hold-up on those games we don't know about?

-The Humble Bundle tease is very interesting. If I personally had to guess, I would say we're getting an ID@Xbox Mega-Bundle with a ton of ID@Xbox games that Microsoft thinks didn't get the attention or credit they deserved. Microsoft/Humble hand-selecting 10-15 lesser-known titles for the lowest tier, with the higher tiers having the ID@Xbox "Heavy Hitters"like Inside, Cuphead, Shovel Knight, and Stardew Valley. I think there's also a possibility it could be a PC bundle with the Windows Store versions of the best Microsoft Studios games from this generation, but I think that's far less exciting. I know people have mentioned the possibility of a Humble Monthly Bundle on Xbox or a publishing partnership, but those both seem incredibly unlikely.

-It seems like Game Pass is coming to PC in a more formal way, probably with a small expansion of the Play Anywhere program. I'd like to see them get more third-party publishers on board and re-vamp the PC store to make it more appealing. I think that's a bit less likely now that we're confident Sunset Overdrive is coming to Steam, but who knows?

-Could we see a Crackdown 3 beta? The Crackdown 3: New Providence title is interesting. I think that's most likely either the single-player or multiplayer Crackdown offering. Could that be what the multiplayer is called and they're releasing it as a beta?

Obsidian acquisition not happening but maybe they are developing an exclusive game?

Speculation time!
