Is Nekopara the first game to be on two different systems with two different ratings?

With the sexual content/relationship aspects of the game removed, as it probably was with the initial Steam release and I assume the PlayStation release it's... pretty tame from what I understand. No idea what the differences between the console variants would be though because I'm sure that Nintendo wouldn't allow nips or censored anime hand holding.

Some very minor plot about a dude who gets some cat girls who help run his cafe. I haven't played these so I can't say for sure, but thats what I have heard from people who have spent a lot of time messing around with specific sliders in these titles.
I saw the difference somewhere, there are more steam on the PS4 version on things like bath scene and there are some option missing on PS4 about... the bouncing or something like that ? This is of course related to the new Sony policies (the PS4 release was even pushed back).

Im sure there is some handheld port of some console game that got a low rating for the lower detail. I recall something like that but I cant name any examples

I think there was a Call of Duty ported to the DS that ended up with a T-rating of while the console version was M.
Damn. I think the ESRB is way too broad. I like how PEGI does it over here with 3, 7, 12, 16 and 18. The rating Nekopara got on the PS4 would literally be equivalent to a 3 which is fucking dumb. Even Super Mario Odyssey is an E10/PEGI 7.

A fun one is looking at game ratings across regions. Like how Shin Megami Tensei III was rated M in the US but A (the Japanese equivalent of E) in Japan.
But I guess if you count emulation, Earthbound is rated T on Virtual Console while it was originally E on SNES.

Seems weird for them to take this stance now when those games are edited anyway for release on consoles. Also doesn't GTA5 have full on sex scenes.
The base game was rated Cero C, and it was before Sony mandated the changes. Look at the Switch version where even though it is lewder it is still rated the same.
they seem to be only bothered by japanese/anime games from smaller devs. they don't want to force any big japanese or western publisher to edit their games, which is how it should be. if a game gets a PEGI/CERO/ESRB rating the platform holder has no business forcing the dev/publisher to change anything about the game. that's the major purpose of these rating boards and the platform holder shouldn't have any right to impose further restrictions. obviously stuff like sexualizing minors or otherwise offensive stuff shouldn't be allowed but that too should be the job of rating boards to refuse to classify a game, not the platform holder.
Surprised we can even talk about this game on this forum. Those are some underage looking cat-girls.

I'm not familiar with the game outside of this incident (I mean, I know it exists but not anything about its releases); what do you mean by "base game"? They're displaying a CERO C for the version that only came out a week ago, with the changes.

That can't be right. Wasn't the only version that showed actual tits the Gamecube version? I know they were blurred out on the PS2 and I think that was the case with Xbox, but I'm not 100% on the Xbox version.
This is dumb as hell. From a quick glance, the game looks absolutely disgusting. They're seriously going to tell me that the edits make it any more appropriate for actual kids?
