A lot of the U.S is anti trump. I don't know what the point of your statement is. You're basically hurting anti-trumpers because you hate the portion that voted for him.

So what makes you think we're boycotting America carte blanche if we're still on this forum. Everyone here has said they don't buy "when possible" so obviously there is more going into the decision than just "American or not American".

I wont go to certain areas of the US. To be honest though, most of the places I'd visit for tourism / races tend to be fairly liberal anyway.

I don't, but as a person who had The idea to ride along the West Coast (from SF to Vancouver) + few National Parks on the way, I am definitely putting the idea on hold with the current political climate. I know I would be fine still, I just don't feel like giving tourism money while Trump is around, not a rational behavior, just loosing the motivation.

Canada is vain and is superficial?

?

Canada is vain, flaunts wealth, and is superficial? Didn't you stay in a Trump building?

EDIT - I live in a Trump building but he doesn't own it, it's owned by a Malaysian billionaire and a real estate group. I made sure to validate the money. They bought the naming / brand license from the Trump company before the US election and are locked into it for a while - but with most people here (residents or hotel guests) being Chinese who don't care about the name, I doubt it'll change until there is no loss breaking the contract / license.

I may move into Vancouver House when that's completed though which is the next best building in Vancouver.

I boycott America whenever I could. I was doing it when they even had a good leader with Obama because American Exceptionalism is obnoxious and their imperialistic agenda that has been around whether it's democrats or republicans harms the world significantly. So I was pretty anti-American before Trump. Now I'm hardcore anti-American.

I do work for a US company, but I take money from a US company, spend it in Canada, and pay taxes in Canada. So I'm doing my work to take money out of the US :) Now sure some of my productivity is contributing to the US economy (but more global economy) but I try to balance that out wherever I can by boycotting American products where I can.

If given a comparable choice, I will always pick the non-American product.

Oh you maroons. Obviously not a full "boycott" but I also go out of my way to avoid American food products (pretty easy when you buy mostly fruit/veg/meat) and I've avoided all conferences and vacation travel since Trump took office -- in part because of Trump, in part just due to terrible American customer service in general and the TSA in particular. I have to go once next year for work reasons, but honestly it's off my vacation list for the foreseeable future.

There are some great places and great people in America. But as I get older the more of the awfulness I see, and I can't in good conscience recommend anyone ever go there.

Is there a list of products coming from Trump supporting states and counties? I will gladly boycott all of those.

Until the GOP changes and Trump is gone, definitely bought less American things but definitely not full boycott.

Weird thread, what you should do instead is buy the cheaper product and use the money you save to donate to organizations fighting to affect the change you're originally boycotting for. Like I don't mean to belittle anyone who wants to selectively boycot individual companies, but an entire nation(s)? I just don't think that really is worth the effort, but whatever makes you feel better.

I would imagine that boycotting America is almost like boycotting air. We are everywhere. Even the Canadian products you mention probably source some American parts.

You would be giving tourism money to solidly blue states....

No.

I'll prioritize Canadian stuff but I'm not about to exclude anything trickling up from the US if it's cheaper/better.

Yes, to a degree, when grocery shopping I avoid American owned products that I am aware of, though of course I imagine some are still owned by American companies that i'm unaware of. Trump's rhetoric on Canada and trade is more than enough to make me feel more comfortable trying to buy strictly Canadian.

I've also noticed that almost all our advertisements over the last year or so almost always specify that their product is Canadian, and highlight the Canadian product over it's American counterpart, which I feel wasn't the case, at least not nearly as much, prior to Trump's tantrums about Canada.

I got married in Vegas 6 years ago, and travelled across to San Francisco, then down the Big Sur to L.A. I liked it. I'm afraid I don't have a big urge to return there as i did just over 2 years ago. I suddenly wouldn't want to give my tourist money to the US until the orange twat has gone.

I don't boycott American products, but I have definitely avoided travel to the US since Trump was elected.

Try as you might, there is almost no avoiding our empire of media.

America might lose hegemony, but we'll never lose viewership.

I have always avoided american food products so that's nothing new. Especially processed foods. They are often a very unhealthy choice.
I will never buy an American car, but once again, that's because they are a terrible product.
I do not watch american propaganda TV shows. Things like cop, political, and military dramas. It really bugs me that Canadian channels even chose to broadcast that crap.
Whatever the product if there is a choice, then yes, I do boycott american. That's always been the case for many things, and now their political beliefs make those decisions even easier.

No. In Canada. Signifant amount of trade is regional in a North_South axis.

In BC we get lots of produce from Cali. A lot of our goods are dropped off in the ports of LA and Seattle then shipped via rail.

Why would i boycott blue states.

"Boycotting" US products is pretty easy because the US doesn't produce anything of worth anymore... so you could argue I'm boycotting them, but honestly... even without trump, I can't think of anything I'd want from there anyway, because privacy concerns and tax evading corporations would still exist. And those, are well worth boycotting.

Yes. I have managed to boycott the Venom movie so far.
And I might even boycott Captain Marvel next year. That's how courageous I am.

Heh, go for it Canucks. It'll at the very least, make you better Patriots

Don't we fine this kind of insular thinking troubling when it's coming out of American mouths? Buying something just because it's made in your country strikes me as foolish. Especially given that middle and lower class people in Canada and America have more in common, especially in their interests, with each other than they do with the upper class that profits off of this kind of thinking.

No one needs to be a better patriot. We should strive to be better people.
