I am not sure these investigations are going to give us what we want.

Democrats should investigate anything that warrants it, but don't put all your eggs into that basket because I am doubtful it will bring him down.

Even if we don't get impeachment and removal, evidence of serious wrongdoing and scandals can only help us in 2020.

This isn't gonna playoit like he thinks it will.
Yes, it will. It muddies the waters. To the average citizen who's not deeply into this stuff, all they see is "Democrats investigate Republicans; Republicans investigate Democrats" and assume it's just political games on both sides. The actual results, merit, and validity of any given investigation doesn't matter because that shit requires nuance and investigation, while the media just reports the "he said, she said."

Even if they find impeachable information, the Senate makes any and all of it a non-starter.

Trump could be actively involved in a child execution project and be classified as immune by the GOP.
There is also that.

I just think too many dems and progressives have hung all of their hopes of somehow magically getting rid of Trump via an investigation into his past.

The truth is that America has a lot of hateful and backwards people living in it. Something that was really easy to ignore or dismiss over the past decade, but eventually you have to accept that this is going to be a struggle with or without Trump.

And let me say that I absolutely despise that fat piece of shit and want all the bad things in the world to happen to him (preferably at the same time). But the people who support him are still going to be here 2-6 years from now. And its those people we have to find a way to defeat somehow more than Trump.

Trump's shaking in his boots. Good Investigate! Your going to lose a lot of the people you wanted in there!

'If democrats are going to waste tax money, we also will tax money' sure is a riveting message to your constituents.

I think we can trust Democrats to bungle the investigation unless they treat "process" as the sham it is to contain and defile Trump in the public sphere. I'm afraid they will prefer being proper and dignified and useless. It can no longer matter if there's actually anything in the documents they can get on Trump. Nobody cares if he cheated to pocket a couple of millions or secure his station. You twist it until people will want to see every innocuous smile as murder, every friendly handshake as rape.

As if anything is going to come out of it. If everything else Trump has done hasn't already sunk him, why does anyone believe tax returns will?

You can be a murderer, a spy, even commit perjury and the government won't care, but the moment you dodge taxes they'll be on you faster than a vulture on a corpse.

Yep. I've seen it in action. People who are only paying attention at a surface level just see it as politics as usual. This is why so many people are still in the "both sides" camp.

Chipping and digging away at his admin through corruption scandals is damaging, Senate or no Senate.

Except the investigations into the 2016 elections and Trump's cabinet have led to tangible indictments and embarrassing resignations, while Trump's congressional stooges only managed to get a couple of FBI agents to step down for leaking or fucking.

The man is thick as pigshit, so it's obvious that all these tactics are being fed to him from an outside source... Now, who could have spent some time studying the various plays he could make? I couldn't possibly speculateski,

The 'investigation' has been going on already. The republicans are not pulling any punches regardless of what the democrats do in the house.

I think you're being to kind to the morons. First you have to account for them not only ignoring the huge amount the GOP have spent on Hillary investigations, but also thinking Hillary is still a criminal despite them coming up with nothing. Then you need to consider the Dems are attacking the infallible GOP first on made up charges, making the Dems the bad guys and leaving the Republicans no choice but to respond.
