He lost to Ted Cruz but almost beat him and could have turned Texas blue, Beto is someone that you should watch for.

I live in California and learned about Beto through someone sharing a video of one of his speeches on twitter and damn Beto is a politician with something to say!
He's built a brand out of himself, people across the United States know about him as he has so much energy and commands a room as an honest person that just wants to do good.

This guy could defeat Trump.
Beto has my vote

An endorsement based on "personal brand", "energy", "speeches" and "command of the room" with nary a mention of policy, experience or action in sight.

Yep, sounds like American politics in 2018!

He is literally all we have got. Kamala has no appeal outside of California. Heed my warning before its too late.

Might want to check the vote totals for PA, MI, and WI. Trump's fucked.

literally only one house seat in michigan flipped and thats a slightly red district for the past 20 years (sans 2008) so its probably best to put it as the R fucking up at campaigning/the D candidate being a good one than anything else

"He lost"

Well, I guess all his great stances are meaningless than because he lost a super red state by a thin margin. *facepalm*

I don't like the idea of losers running. I hope he stays in Texas and helps keep pushing it blue.

To be honest I feel like he'd have a greater chance of winning Presidency than he did a Texas Senate seat. (Note: I'm not actually sure on how things would truly go)

We've got areas like Austin, but on the whole Texas is capital R Red

E: this is moreso just my response towards the "he lost" sentiment. I'd rather he stay in Texas and keep pushing, but would vote him if he went straight up.

Pretty much every exciting progressive lost tonight. If Kamala or Warren get the nom we lose, guaranteed period. Don't think Beto would win but who knows. Florida is red, we have to win the rust belt, hope the house and dems as a whole remember this.

We should just run whichever blue state senator turned their state the bluest, rather than a guy who lost an election by 4% when the previous dem nominee lost by 16%. That seems like a good strategy.

Some of you just can't see the forest for the trees. This loss is actually promising for Beto's nationwide chances. Ted Cruz is extremely popular in Texas and Beto made him sweat. Beto would absolutely sweep up in 2020. He is a great candidate but dems are out here entertaining Michael fucking Avenatti.

A stance is one thing. We need more than someone with an opinion, though. We need a leader who will do what needs to be done to fight a horde. I do wish Beto had won (and I would have voted for him if I lived in Texas), but he failed his test. People are acting like any woke white man is the safe road to winning 2020.
