It's from a Mandatory Update episode as far as I remember, but I can't seem to find/remember which one (I searched for it on the GT youtube channel, but maybe it's not on there or something or I missed it).
I am sure other people here will know as they are clearly much better with that stuff as I am.

And I had the same thing. I realized how much I miss the Elyse and Ian Combo. I still love most Easy Updates as well, but I actually really loved that "newsshow" with the weird jokes and them interacting in silly/weird ways.
But what can you do. Still plenty of good content to watch for me at EZA now as I don't have the time to watch everything as is anyway :), so it's all good.

Which blade? And same. I'm too turned off by the character designs, so I cancelled my pre-order. Which is a shame because I love the worlds that Monolith Soft create. Oh well. I'll look out for their next game.

They invited guest artists to make the rare blade designs, it's been a huge thing for mobile gacha games in Japan and they are replicating that strategy for this game.
Regarding the main artist, it's just their style and it seems like the head of Monolith and game director, Tetsuya Takahashi, is a fan.
Oh. Yeah, those are the kind of designs that turned me off. I really liked the little bird blade, so I agree there are some good ones.
Yea, that's the one. I had largely no issue with the designs in XC1. Loved that game.
The silver lining for me is that I can pretend that the tacky monstrosity is not part of my game. Being one blade among many, I feel like I can just leave it in the inventory and let it collect dust (if I ever find it at all). It will be the botw switch shirt equivalent.

I mean, it's a blade so you can just not use it. I wonder if you can just reset your game if you get a blade you don't want or if the game is evil and it auto-saves

I mean, I find the main blade design (Pyre?) to be pretty bad as well. This recent design is just a whole different category of bad though.
But really, it's mostly the overall character design framework that I find poor. I could barely remember the MCs character if it weren't for those ridiculous looking... balloon pants?
Xenoblade C2 char design makes me feel like when Bravely Default had to change their composer from revo to ryo from supercell.

It's interesting that the design of Pyra or any of these blades has never been mentioned by Ben, now I'm not trying to say he should definitely think like me or else, I'm just surprised he hasn't addressed it at all. Even if only to say it doesn't phase him.
I want to say I've heard him mention something similar but maybe for another game?

no. FT rotates regularly like everything else if there's a feeling of someone not having been on there for a while it's cause biweekly + Ben made the panel size him +2 instead of 3 this year. One of the earliest Frame Traps I've listened to had him speaking against #FE's design changes and I wrote him dowwn as a certain type and stopped listening to that show for a long time.
