It looked like a normal easter egg at first but the 'unfinished tale' part is really curious.

why can´t this doll be the new doll in BB2?

People think that it is a reference to the old doll but it may as well be the other way around. The new doll will be a reference to this game.

1. Creator puts a fun reference in their game.
2. Fans go wild with overextrapolation.
3. Fans harrass Creator when Creator doesn't follow through on inflated expectations.
4. Creator stops putting fun easter eggs in their games.

I am telling you, the doll is unnamed, Fiona is what Gherman probably called the doll when he was constructing her.

That's a possibility too. Though I'm leaning towards this being a new doll. It sounds like BB but it also sounds "new" "A doll of the stone girl Fiona who appears in the unfinished tale" Stone girl? That doesn't sound like anything from BB. "When a person has a bad dream, Fiona appears and helps them flee" Sounds kinda the opposite of Bloodborne and the Hunter's Dream since you are entering the bad dream, rather than fleeing it in BB?

That's exactly what I'm thinking. This is a new doll. Also the quote sounds like BB but also not like BB. It sounds "new"

I mean
Déraciné was written by Miyazaki, while Sekiro was not.

Who knows

This is the big thing. Miyazaki always has a big hand in item descriptions and naming. He's not writing the descriptions for Sekiro but developed the overarching plot. So it stands to reason that he did the writing for Deracine. Why would he put/allow this(especially the unfinished tale portion) if he doesnt want to plant an idea in our minds. Keep dreaming big y'all.

P.S. I dont think BB needs a sequel.

Bloodborne 2 is actually a Shrek RPG.

....I'd play it.

A "new doll" would be extremely disappointing, way more than what I initially imagined as a sequel to a story that didn't need a sequel.

Gehrman made a Doll as tribute to the woman he was obsessed about, there is no deep meaning behind dolls in the world of Bloodborne, the Doll is a doll because she was already a doll when the Hunter's Dream was conceived. That's recycling story bits that didn't even have any importance in the first place.

Dolls aren't to Bloodborne what Fire Keepers are to Dark Souls.

And it being with Japan Studio and this being in game with them involved makes it even more suspicious, cause Miyazaki made DS and BB with Japan Studio...

See you on PS5.

Y'all are getting too hung up on the fact that it's a doll. It's a doll because the main character in Deracine is a little kid.

It doesn't have to be a doll of another doll, and in fact, that makes very little sense to begin with. Fiona is probably an actual person.

Also this. If you actually pay attention to the Story of BB, you'll realize that Dolls are not significant to world, but only to Gehrman and the PC. If they made a new doll for the sequel disappointment would be an understatement.

Which is why this doll is very likely not a reference to the Plain Doll or another doll, but to an actual NPC in whatever game they're working on.

Following the Dark Souls 3 way.
It would be even worse. Fire Keepers are well established in the Dark Souls lore and it makes sense that they'd still be around in some fashion, but a doll is just a doll. That's like making sure the new host of the new Hunter's Dream that's also called Hunter's Dream has a wooden leg too.

or we will delve into a little backstory on Gherman and the doll (Fiona).

We don't need more backstory on Gehrman. We already covered that in the first game. And again, who would make a doll of another doll? It doesn't make sense. Fiona is a doll because it's a game about a little kid.

This is not a bb reference. It's stretched to a ludicrous degrees.

Not really considering this game is another FS\JS project and Miyazaki is heavily involved. Whether it's a BB reference or not, considering the contact gesture from BB is exactly what the doll is doing.... who knows, but it's clearly "something" since both FS and JS are involved and both of them have collaborated on games in the past, so there is nothing stretching ludicrous about this.

A Bloodborne sequel makes sense. A sequel to an old game nobody likes? Not so much.
