I honestly think the new GoW left more questions than answers and since Faye is an important character it would be great to explore her backstory which may even give us the traditional epic scale boss fights which have been lacking since God of War III, do you guys think this is a possibility?

No I don't think so, I believe they'll go straight to the sequel honestly. Also you would have to change a lot of the systems in the game to make Faye playable I believe, she's not a brute like Kratos, more like a spellcaster/summoner, but she was queen of Valkyries so, maybe she can fight just well enough.

Edit: I'm an idiot who can't read, thought about Freya not Faye, still think it won't happen tho.

Also, to tell that story... man, it should be a mountain (didn't want to use the word giant :P ) size effort.

I hope not. You don't end on a sequel hook like that and then go "PSYCH, PREQUEL TIME".

Well, unless your name is Tetsuya Nomura.

Exactly. Lost Legacy was pretty much just a palette swap with Uncharted 4 since the systems were the exact same.

I'd they do something like this I doubt they will spend the resources to make epic boss fights. More likely they would reuse as much of their existing work as possible, but it could still be cool if she had her own fighting style and abilities.

Given the design of the game world I think the potential is there for a small team to create a new mode (diablo style loot adventure, or monster hunter type thing) without having to create new assets. It would be an awesome way to keep the game alive while we wait years for a sequel.

It's probably all hands on deck for whatever the next thing is though.

Nah, she's a non character as is and her role is done, from what we heard she didn't do anything like fight actual gods.

A Tyr prequel is what I'd like to see.

I think that would ruin some of the mystique about Faye. I suspect we may get a playable segment with her in the sequel that won't require the development of entirely new character models. Plus it would create a standard that every female main character should be relegated to playable status in a spin-off title which I don't like.

I'm sure there will be some scenes in future games where Kratos meets her and gets hits blades back after the events of 3.

I had to look up who Faye is, I don't think she'll get a game based on her.

Also feels like you're relegating female leads to spin off titles only. Lost Legacy was its own thing, it doesn't need to become a norm.

Okay.

Well, even if they tried they'd probably fuck it up. They are very bad at portraying women.

I'm honestly shocked they didn't do an expansion for this game. I know we all want the sequel, but I figured they'd do a big DLC pack while they planned out the sequel. I'm actually a bit disappointed they're not going to have a stop gap.

I wouldn't think so. I do, however think we'll get flashback sequences with Faye in one of the sequels.

How would that work with no camera cuts?
They don't need to do that again. The camera cut every time you paused the game or died. They can maintain the same style of cinematography without striving for that last 5% of "technically, the camera never cuts, look how immersive!"

It didn't hurt the game for me but it's in no way needed. The real concern for flashbacks and flash forwards is the scope and ambition and how that might compromise what the first one did so well, which was capitalizing on a small cast with good writing and emotional moments.

I think if they finally drop the 'no camera cuts' thing we could have scenes where we see the gods making plans against Kratos in Asgard, that could be pretty cool.

LOL, no. The impact of Faye's story is told through the journey you already experienced. They don't have time for that.

If we don't get anything at TGA I doubt it. I imagine they've already started on the next GoW.

You mean the woman whose sole purpose was to be a mother figure for multiple characters and no other reason is a good potrayal?

I'm talking about Freya.
You are being very transparent here. No point in continuing to engage with you.

I don't think they'll overdue it with prequels this time, so nah, don't see her getting a dedicated game. Cory has kinda said they have more to say with Kratos and Faye meeting though, so probably have something about her in the future.
