The only significant porting company I know of is Panic Button, and they specializes in FPS/action heavy game ports.

I wanted to know what other companies that handles porting video games to other platforms, and what type of genre they specialize in.

Does anyone know? If we get a lot of entries, I'll make a list below.

Well, M2 is pretty darn great. Their ports of old games are top notch. Accurate emulation, new features/modes, letting international differences from the original release be toggle-able, and other extra options.

Aspyr
and Feral Interactive are both well known for porting Windows games to Mac and Linux.

Before that, there was Loki Software.

Nixxes, Bluepoint and HexaDrive are probably three of the most prominent and high quality "port"/remaster studios.

HexaDrive in particularly did an amazing job cleaning up the mess that was ZoE2 HD on PS3.

While Nixxes do a lot of work on Square Enix Europe projects, probably most notably porting Rise of the Tomb Raider to the 360.

Ready At Dawn were pretty much just Naughty Dog port studios for a while

Vicarious Visions handled all the Wii Guitar Hero games (And they were bloody good too)

Can't remember who did UC collection but they've done a few too

They were? I know that they had some former Naughty Dog members at their inception, and the first game they did after that was Daxter, but that was a totally original game for PSP. After that, they developed God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta, both of which were also totally original PSP games based on an existing series. As far as I know, Okami was the only previously existing game (from another developer) that they ported over from one platform (PS2) to another (Wii).

Dempa Micomsoft did a lot of ports of Sega games to Japanese PCs, the X68K in particular. Nowadays they're more known for the framemeister.

US Gold did a similar job for European PCs. They did not, however, make the framemeister.

Rutubo Games made the original Sega Ages line. They also did a couple of the 32X ports.

Virtuos (behemoth-sized production/outsourcing company, did current-gen ports of Assassin's Creed II/Bro/Rev, Dark Souls, FF XII, L.A. Noire, and on and on and on)
High Voltage (MK/Injustice ports to Windows)
Beenox (mostly CoD ports)
Blind Squirrel (ported Bioshock games to PS4/XB1)

Just to note, Bluepoint, while generally working with Sony, did do The MGS Collection, which was issued on 360 too. They also did the 360 version of TitanFall.

A couple more.

Ghostlight. They ported a couple Japanese console titles to PC such as Way of the Samurai 3 and 4, Mugen Souls, Agarest among others.

Lab42. Best known for porting Yakuza 0 and the upcoming Yakuza Kiwami on PC.

Hardlight. They worked on the PC ports of Sonic Forces, Viking and also assisted on the Yakuza 0 PC port.

d3t. They recently worked on Shenmue I & II, the Sega Genesis Classics for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch as well as assisting on the PS4 and Xbox One port of Burnout Paradise. I believe they are also porting the upcoming indie game The Room to Switch.

Devil's Details. They ported Binary Domain and Sonic Generations to PC.

Armature Studio. Best known for Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on the PS Vita. (That's right, Bluepoint did not work on the Vita version) as well as Borderlands.

Mass Media Games. They worked on a couple HD collections last gen such as Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank.

NeoBards. They ported Devil May Cry HD Collection to current gen consoles and PC. QLOC worked on the 360 version i believe.

Genki. They did a disappointing port of Virtua Fighter 3tb to the Dreamcast and in more recent years did a fantastic HD conversion of Yakuza 1 & 2 for PS3 and Wii U. Sadly it never left Japan.

Factor 5 and Angel Studios (R* SanDiago) are still well known for the absolute bonkers N64 port of Resident Evil 2. Not only known just for that game of course, but they're usually mentioned whenever that version is brought up.

You are correct - the only thing we ever ported was Okami to the Wii, only did it because we loved the game so much, and even for that we hired an all new external team (even had a separate office) to make sure it would not distract from the main team's work.

Our games release before 2015 were based on existing IPs (Daxter from ND, GOW from Sony Santa Monica) but they were written from scratch, with no assets, code or design reused from the respective IP creators.

Sega. Every third party game on the Master System was a port done by them. Same with a lot of early Mega Drive games because of Nintendo's wheeling and dealing.
