Has Kyle played Tetris Effect? I really hope he buys it on PS4 when it comes out next week because I'm playing the trial and it's incredible.
That's great to hear :)Not only has he played it, he really likes it AND will be streaming it this Friday night in his normal streaming slot. So tune in for some Neon BvW action!
There is a CD release (http://kunaki.com/MSales.asp?PublisherId=145545). A vinyl release is probably way too expensive to produce.

Hell yeah that's the good stuff
the first time he played it did he stream it? I would love to see his first reaction at the game

It's not something I am interested in myself, but I hope you get your wish.
I would also. I got to a Stranger mission last night called The Veteran. It had this acoustic guitar / dobro song that was so goddamn beautiful and it was for this quick, 3 minute mission that most people will miss.

Maybe you should try out SoTC PS4, since it offers a more standard control scheme.Yeah, the only game I had played from them was the demo for ICO back on PS1 (which I enjoyed as far as I remember). I always wanted to buy ICO, but I never got around to it.
Shadow of the Colossus never really spoke to me when it came out, but I wanted to give it a try after The Last Guardian was announced, but never got around to it.
I never got around to try the PS3 remasters either for some reason (even though I got them with PS+ a couple of months before PS4 arrived).
It's because people compare the controls of TLG to Shadow that I didn't want to buy/play it any more. I can see why people think those games are good and I am not saying they are wrong in thinking so either (I am glad for the creator that they do). I just can't get past those controls for some reason. I don't think I will ever buy anything from that studio again.
Again, no hard feelings to the people who really enjoyed TLG, it's a legit opinion for sure and the people who didn't have a problem with TLG seem to have it in very high regard. But to me it's still one of the most disappointing, aggravating AAA games I own.
I am really surprised on how divisive the game is too. I thought I must have done something wrong when I played the part I did because most people seem to love it and I usually can deal with a lot of mediocre controls. I wonder if the people who love it, love it because of the ending (I am convinced it has a good ending) so that they can look past some of the problems or if those people just played SotC, so they were used to those type of controls/camera.
The discussions always make me want to go back. If I find time to do so next year, I possibly will.
Yeah maybe. It's still in my PSN store wishlist, but I have let it slide multiple times when it was 60% off as I have plenty of other things to play and I am afraid of getting burned again.Maybe you should try out SoTC PS4, since it offers a more standard control scheme.
Nothing has felt quite like climbing to the very top of the temple to this very day. Assassin's Creed used to be all about climbing landmarks and yet none of those games managed to capture that sense of accomplishment and pure feat of reaching the secret garden there.I played that for the first time this year via the PS4 remake...I can only imagine what that must have felt like back on PS2. Definitely groundbreaking, to say the least.
I understand, but after all the praise for The Last Guardian got and me not feeling that one at all, I am not convinced my taste in games is the same as a lot of other people.
Yeah, by best game of the last two generations I was basically just saying it's the best game since SotC. Both games impacted me in so many different ways that no other game has managed to accomplish.Totally. I'm never going to forget TLG's final hour. My favourite game since Okami or SotC.

I am still skeptical about it and don't feel like taking the plunge to be frustrated again with a game that doesn't speak to me at all compared to the type of game TLG is. I usually enjoy exploration/puzzle adventures, I usually don't enjoy boss-fights too much (it's one of the reasons why I didn't buy the new GoW either, especially because I am really not too fond of that type of combat).
Revisionist history. TLG received the fourth equal most GOTY picks in 2016, was fifth in the old site's GOTY vote and the vast majority of reviews were positive, so no, it received a hell of a lot of praise outside of EZA and this thread. And I'm not sure what you're using to determine that far more people think it's bad but if it's the old site and/or Era then you need to remember that that isn't everyone. MGS4 won two 2008 GOTYs because a very vocal minority wouldn't accept that it won the first one.The last guardian got like no praise outside of EZA and people in this thread. The game had its fans but its definitely divisive with far more people thinking the game is bad.
With that said, if you dont like boss fights dont play shadow of the collosus. People will try to tell you that it's different because the colossi are not typical bosses and more like puzzles but at the end of the day it's still just a series of 16 (incredible) boss fights with some very light exploration in between. I say that as a huge fan of the game
Wow thanksIn case anyone needs context for one of GT's best inside jokes, and Box Peek's new best character, "KAZOMIIIIIIIII":

Thanks, Noah. I never really watched GT streams (except for the final one), so that one went over my head.In case anyone needs context for one of GT's best inside jokes, and Box Peek's new best character, "KAZOMIIIIIIIII":

There's no question the game is divisive but there's no way "far more people" think the game is bad. It won a fair number of GotY awards, has an 8.1 user score on Metacritic and 82 critic score, and it was #5 on the 2016 GotY list at the old forum. Absolutely not true to say only EZA praises it.
Fair enough, I guess I forgot how many people out there actually like the game. I'm getting more and more convinced of the theory that half of the last guardian disks shipped were messed up versions and nobody noticed.
While I do see how that's a possibility for sure, I didn't have a problem with Trico myself. Also, I don't have a problem with the slower pace of RDR2 neither as I usually tend to play my games at a slower pace anyway. So that's for sure not the whole story. The slower pace was not the problem I personally had with TLG. That said, I can see how that would be the case for a lot of people. It is naturally going to be a little divisive because the game asks more of its players than other games do(mainly, it requires that you have a lot of patience, which is paid off as it lends believability to Trico, but will stick in the craw of people that need that instant satisfaction), but it really is a special experience.
It's so god damn unfair that Kyle's this talented.Ben's line at the end is hilarious.
The expression changes and backgrounds were really impressive in this one.
Like, I shouldn't be surprised the connections and friends Ian has at this point...Had I known Erica was friends with Ian, I would have worn my EZA shirt when I saw her at Youmacon last year
Not to steer anything back to GOTY discussions, but if ever there were a time to do an Opinion Yell: GOTY Edition, this is the year! This idea popped in my mind as I cursed at the television while playing RDR2 last night. I love Jones and all, but someone needs to take him to task in the Experience Tube over some of the design choices in this game. *shakes fist*
