Where Were You When Spider-Man Was Announced to be in the MCU?

Just like the Tom Holland in Venom stuff, I'm starting to think those rumors come from Sony :p
I don't even know what MCU means. This seems like a very insignificant milestone and quite frankly it worries me how important it seems to be for you, OP. Seek help.

If you paid attention to the 2014 Sony hack, there was nothing surprising about Spiderman joining the MCU. It was both hinted by correspondence leaked by the hack, and probably pushed along by the economic fallout of the hack itself....
I don't remember the exact day, but pretty sure I saw it on GAF. It's an important moment for Marvel Studios for sure and is a unique deal, but not sure it's thread worthy

I don't remember this but I'll remember where I was when Sony doesn't renew the deal and inevitably pulls him back into his own mediocre cinematic universe with fucking Jared Leto as Morbius.
There's got to be some name for the effect where people exaggerate how important something is because its related to the MCU.
People always saying how groundbreaking it is that the movies connect, and how they deserve oscars or whatever..... it's just another fantasy franchise.

I don't remember at all, and I'm a pretty big Spodermens fan at the end of the day, though I readily admit to not keeping up with the comics these days. Still, I've got hundreds of 80's and 90's Spider-Man comics, but I guess the announcement just didn't hype me that much. I just don't put a great deal of importance on pop culture events like that I suppose.
