Do you predict more outlets will give GOTY to God of War or Red Dead Redemption 2?

It's the biggest GOTY bait game this year, and more fresh in people's minds than GOW

God of War. I say this without meaning it as some dig, but most professional outlets have way more Sony fans

RDR2 is probably gonna win more awards for the sheer scale and amount of content it has. I wouldn't be surprised if GoW gets more awards though.

I think you're gonna see RDR2 get a bit more attention, but God of War will likely snag it from a lot of smaller outlets.

So far I'm enjoying RDR2 more than I did God of War, though both are great games.

Monster Hunter tho'

Red Dead 2. It's just an all-around better package, not to mention outlets have massive boners for open-world games. I imagine God of War will win awards for its narrative despite The Missing - J.J. Macfield existing.

Monster Hunter will no doubt snag a few but most GOTY on sites will probably be split between these two.

RDR2 has the advantage of coming out a week ago, while God of war was over 6 months ago

I think while RDR2 will probably take it overall, it will be closer than some people expect it to be.

Only Era's Goty matters. It will be GOW.

God of War is my goty but I know RDR2 will get more awards across the board.

I wouldn't be suprised if RDR 2 will win more GotY awards than God of War, though both are great games that deserves a proper reconigniton.

Definitely RDR2, There is nothing else quite like it this year. Unless the online shits the bed and people decide to judge it on that and not the SP

I think people decided RDR2 was going to be the 2019 GOTY way back in 2018. I know I did.

Now that it's out, I think God of War actually deserves it more. It feels like the more inventive and soulful game. But I still think RDR2 runs away with it.

It's a TLoU v GTAV situation again. I expect God of War to get more - and deservedly so in my books.

I just finished Astro Bot a few minutes ago though, and that is something special. It deserves some nods too.

Personally, I hope GOW will take the crown. RDR2 is amazing and deserves its praise but it didn't take any risk and it's the same old Rockstar game dragging decade old problems under a fresh coat of paint.

I'm enjoying RDR2 and it is certainly an unprecedented accomplishment, but it's not a better game than God of War IMO (haven't finished RDR2 yet). You could argue RDR2 is a better, more immersive experience I suppose.

God of War is incredible and a significant evolution for the series, but RDR2 is much more ambitious. I mean, it's genre-defining shit.

Red Dead. I've played both and Red Dead is by far the better game of the two in my opinion. The only thing God of War does really good that Red Dead is kinda lacking in is how the game makes use of the boy as your partner, and the impact that stuff has on your relationship with the boy. In Red Dead the interaction is there in dialogue and cutscenes, but outside of that you're just riding with them or shooting with them, and it's always someone else you're on a mission with. Outside of that Red Dead 2 kinda outshines GoW in every way. I love God of War, and it was my favorite game of the year until Red Dead came along, but I wouldn't put God of War in my top 3 games of the generation, and right now Red Dead 2 is sitting at the number one spot.

They are both amazing games, but Red Dead 2 really took games to the next level for me.

RDR2, though I think GoW is the better title, one of the greatest games I've ever played.

RDR 2 will scoop up most GotY awards but I can definitely see GoW winning here on Era.

There really isn't any doubt in my mind, RDR2 by a country mile.

While I have been championing GOW as a top 5 GOAT, I think RDR2 could be better. I'm absolutely lost in the game, and in the best kind of way.

I don't think I've ever "role played" like I'm doing in RDR2.

I would be shocked if RDR2 doesn't sweep. Fresher in everyone's memory, Rockstar makes people's brains go haywire, and it has plenty of justification of its own for deserving it, too.

It'll be another TLoU vs GTA v. RDR2 with higher metacritic but GoW will snag more GOTY awards.

In 2013, TLOU got double the amount of GOTY awards GTA 5 got. So who knows.

Red Dead by a 2:1 margin.

Broad non-gaming publications will give it credit for the slower pace & recreation of the epic scale of the old West. Dedicated publications will throw it praise for the Rockstar polish & being a different option in a sea of open-world sameness. Plus, it can catch awards from Xbox-focused outlets that GoW cannot.

Meanwhile, GoW has to contend with having been out for over six months - and another major PS exclusive action game angling for attention.

GOW will win some for sure. But RDR2 will win by a pretty wide margin I think.

My picks for best of the year are RDR2, MHW, GOW, SotC, Donut Valley, Octopath, Kiwani 2, Spider Man

I imagine Red Dead has a better shot due to a number of factors. I think God of War probably deserves it more, but they're both excellent - so let's see what happens!

I won't say RDR2 is a disappointment but I was expecting it to be better but we all know how bias the videogames media is towards Rockstar, it is obvious they will win GOTY in most outlets and The VGAs.
