Damn I feel for the shit teachers have to put up with, but I'm gonna have to give the teacher this L. Let him say whatever he wants, and wait for security or something. At the end of the day he's supposed to be the adult. Also if you're gonna kill your career over some mouthy ass kid he could've at least laid him out.

Conflicted on this.

On one hand, I don't believe a teacher should ever hit a student.

But that kid was asking for it... I hope the kid gets suspended as well.

Several students spoke with KTLA Friday night on the condition of anonymity.

One alleged that the situation was a setup.

"Everything was planned out," he said. "There were students there who were already taking out their phones to record the incident. I don't think it's completely fair that they're just putting the blame all on (Riley), when I personally know that he's a good guy."

Messed up if true.

Feel bad for tth teacher about to lose his job but that kid is DONE. Nobody is going to take shit from the kid who got woped by a teacher. If he ain't a punk he has a lot more fighting ahead of him which after this ain't gonna be a good look from the perspective of the school and if he is a punk then he's about to eat a ton of shit.

Teachers get paid fuck all for one of the hardest jobs in america, and you have ungrateful little shits like this kid making it even harder for them. Yeah, physical violence isnt the answer in any situation, but after constantly being threatened and antagonized, it was a completely normal reaction.

Yes that's EXACTLY what I'm saying. /s

Fuck ANY teacher swinging on ANY kid. And i don't know the racial make up of the kid, so i'm not commenting on that. I am quite tired of this so-called "respect for authority" bullshit. He swung on a child in school. And STILL lost. Again fuck him.

You think the teacher lost that fight brehs?

You the same dude that thinks Street Fighter is about who can get their health to 0 the quickest?

Kid's at fault here, people.
Countless slurs
Antagonizing
To top it off: Pegged a basketball at teach's nuts.

C'mon, guys.
Have you considered that in scenarios like this its possible that both sides carry some of the fault? Kid was a piece of shit and instigated this, it doesn't mean the teacher's actions are justified

Whew, that scenario is way too reminiscent of my high school days.

Bullies push you and push you and push you and you do your best to keep your cool and composure but they eventually push you over the edge and when you retaliate you're the one in trouble.

Some things should be legal if you have conclusive proof that it was done to a complete asshole.

First of all you could tell that teacher was pushed to the edge.

I hope he doesn't get a tough sentence.

Secondly that kid was a punk with no respect

Yeah, but as a teacher you still can't punch the little shit.

I'm glad he did though.
You're 100% right. There's 0 tolerance for it nowadays but the entire incident needs to get reviewed, imo, and the guy doesn't deserve to lose his job.

Yeah, I get that. It's unfair for the teacher mostly tho and whatever consequences are given should reflect that. Firing him is too much, I'd say.

And that's why folks don't bother being teachers underpaid AND treated like dogshit? No thanks.

The teacher snapped. He tried to hold it together, but being called the N word 2 dozen times like that, he looks like he totally lost it and stopped thinking.

The kid had it coming of course, but the teacher will regret this forever.

I think the bigger problem here is that teachers need to be given more tools to effectively punish bad students like this without feeling the need to resort to violence. Parents who think their kids are above proper punishments have way too much sway in the educational system right now

But you can't hit the kids.

Like what?

The only thing I can think of is security detail in schools, and we've seen how well that works out...

Usually, it's just pushing the concept of violence from the teacher to someone even less qualified to be around kids.

And we need to pay teachers way more. Bruh, I remember in school we had this substitute teacher who looked like Hank Hill. Dude was always pissed off at us. Teachers, BUS DRIVERS, damn it was rough. One time my principal got on the bus ready to scrap on some kids because the driver turned the bus around to go back to the school because kids were acting up.

That's one job I couldn't do. I mean I could, I'd be cool with the kids because I'm laid back but some of them? Man it's rough.

Teachers take way too much stuff.

Why did no student stepped up to say calm down or another teacher stepped in?

Kid didn't get enough of what he deserved.

First of all, fuck kids and adults who act that way. They are pieces of shit. That kid is a piece of shit.

The teacher should not have swung, I was expecting him to be hit first and defend himself, but he could've de-escalated the situation by putting his pride aside and getting help from admin or something. The kid did throw the basketball at him, but I don't think that counts as "hitting first". What did that kid expect? Seems like he was surprised the teacher snapped, but that's what he was asking for.

Terrible all around. I feel bad for teachers that have to put up with kids with these types of attitudes or behaviours. I don't think the parents even give a shit.

Eesh, well the teacher isn't going to be a teacher anymore. I hope that kid gets some real life consequences as well though, and the little punk that tried to jump in with a punch. They both should be expelled.

Loosing his job is the least of his worries right now. Feel bad for the guy.
You're right. After all is said and done, I hope he has some recourse. Seems his pupils are on his side. A GoFundMe would be a start, then letters to the Board of Ed to help him be a teacher again. (Long shot, I know but would look great in the future.)

Here's uploaded a video (teacher) about it

A fight where a teacher had a cellphone in his hand hitting the kid doing NO damage with his old man punches. And then throwing wild ass haymakers and missing.

Bruh, go somewhere with this shit.

The boy starts recoiling IMMEDIATELY after the first connection because that was probably the first time he had ever felt a real punch to the face.

You can see all the bravado drain from his body language immediately.

Miss me with that, "it didn't hurt" bullshit. A grown man punching a child in the face will ALWAYS hurt.

All I saw was an old dude throw wild punch's. Kid got 3 good, clean hits in. Where as an the teacher should have knocked that lil motherfucker out first hit. I don't respect an old dude throwing wild ass punches and not doing anything. All that punching and not knocking out a motherfucker who looks no more than 100lbs. And he was throwing them shits hard as he could.

Only I didn't say it didn't hurt... kid should have gotten knocked out. You gonna risk your job, aight. Be about it.

Unfortunately not being able to back the teacher was clinched for me because of around 2:00. The kid was pulled off, and the security woman was grabbing for his arm, but he still went after the kid's head 2 seconds later. You can't go that far jeez.

More serious consequences like docking grades significantly for each offense, holding kids back years, expulsion, or even a straight up criminal record depending on the frequency and severity of the crime. Now these may not work on every kid, but the idea that force or pain is the only teacher is antiquated and harmful

Problem is the parents. Ain't no kid acting like that without some serious problems at home. Problem is parents come in and don't wanna own their part in the bullshit and put on a front like they just can't imaging why dude going wild. Then the problems continue cause the real reasons for such misbehavior aren't being addressed.

The shit starts at home.

I dont understand.

Why was the teacher even allowing this degenerate to speak to him that way?
Why didn't he send him to the principals office from the beginning?

This all could have been avoided.

Do teachers allow students to speak this way?

This all began because he asked him to go home because he was out of uniform. You think this kid was just gonna say "Okay" and go to the principles office? The teacher called security to get the student out but lost it before they showed up.

these sort of kids who talk big but can't back it up antagonize people because they WANT to get the shit kicked out of them, because then their daddy is gonna sue the school and make them a shitload of money

i don't have any sympathy for a racist kid finally getting what he deserves, but as adults and professionals the rule is ALWAYS de-escalate, no matter what

This tatsu guy sounds so angry in his posts that I can't imagine he would fair any better than the teacher in refraining himself if he was faced with a teenager who hurled racial slurs, mouthed off and hit him with a basketball.

nah, tastu is the other teacher passing by the door who would come to the kids defense to fight the teacher and chant fuck the police

The kid is about to get so much shit from his peers. And he deserves all of it. Hell, those slurs alone are gonna have the black students snapping at his neck. I probably wouldn't have swung on him, though. I would've just told the students to keep filming, and let him assault me if need be. Then pressed charges against him and said it was a hate crime. Send the little fucker to juvie where he'll have the chance to fight as much as he wants.

Oh absolutely. Though solving those issues is also incredibly difficult because even if you take the kids away from the parents our foster care system is absolutely fucked up in its own right
