Been clean from league for 4 years now. But this is pulling me back. Played a few games and it seems like a lot of problems I had with the game have been addressed.

Soo good. Rise was also pretty good as a song and music video.

Shame esports is so shunned on this site. Worlds this year was an awesome event and RIOT is the best organiser of events in the business

Song is a banger

Rise is really awesome too, Riot does a good job collaborating with various animators and artists.

I was half considering it and buying the Akali skin haha.

That's an awesome looking music video.

Edit: Watched the RISE video too, that one was also pretty cool. Neat of Riot to do stuff like that.

Song and video is great, the part with Akali rapping is sick. Riot will make soooo much money on this skin line.

It's gorgeous! O: Even my fellow non-gamer, non-K-pop, non-anime privy graphics and design classmates think this video is dope.

It seems like Riot has nothing better to do with those wads of cash spilling out of their wallets what with them constantly releasing high quality animated shorts. I'm not complaining though. More companies should do this.

My boys from Fortiche Prod. I have a friend there who worked on Rise. Not a fan of LoL but these kind of short are good showcase of Fortiche's style. They Did Jinx and other movies for Riot.

i said it in the other thread, and i'll say it again here. This video is more artful, engaging and interesting and fun than everything Overwatch did with their videos so far.

Such a fantastic song. I really loved the live performance at the finals, where they had the 3D models dancing alongside the performers. It didn't look perfect but I really respect that Riot are always going above and beyond what people expect of their events. They dared to be different. That's what I love about the company and about their direction for the game.

Was a nice surprise as a former LoL player and current K-music fan. Songs good too, not quite a perfect banger, the general vocals in the chorus lack anything distinct imo, but its a fun one and the video is pretty ace.

I have no idea what all the accronyms in the title and artist secion mean. It's a K-Pop song but a couple of those names seem decidedly non-Korean?

In any case, it's a really cool looking video. Makes the pop music palletable.

We're all really happy people dig KDA, regardless of the reason you watched or enjoyed it! From the inside: the music projects Riot does from time to time are always a hoot to watch from conception to stressful execution - the team that led this busts their ass all year to make sure as many elements as possible get the right amount of love, from the copy to the storyboards to finding the right musicians.

Seriously thrilled people are digging it.

Fortiche does INCREDIBLE stuff - I am so happy whenever I hear they are working on something for us. The way they animated stuff for RISE as well (in particular, the mountain/statue shot just before the Faker battle) was amazing.

I love how practical it all seems. the camera work is great too btw. I've watched the video like 20 times this weekend and I kinda want to see someone do this video live action because I 100% believe it can be done. It just feels so much like a high budget music video production. would love to see some storyboards and a lil more from behind the scenes on it all. what were some of the teams inspirations?

So I am not sure if we're planning on doing one of our "behind the scenes" posts that we've done in the past for this, but I'll ask the team once they get back from KR & reply back if I can.

While it's not directly speaking to the music video/stage performance itself, I do know that the concept artist involved with ideating the style posted a lot of the exploratory & locked work on his Artstation, and that might scratch some of the itch?

EDIT: and here's the partner artist who led in-game visualization exploration!

I always look forward to the Worlds song since soccer has continued to disappoint in the banger anthems department. Consistently amazing. I would love to know how they decided on the artists for Rise because I definitely wasn't sure going in but it's a great song.

Wait limited in that they will only be purchasable for a while?

It's similar for me, I play the game but I'm not into k-pop and the whole culture aside from the occasional DJMAX song and the song really isn't my usual music-taste either but something makes me listen to it over and over. It's so catchy and well done.

Leave opponents starstruck with K/DA Ahri, Evelynn, Akali, and Kai'Sa, now touring the League store. K/DA Kai'Sa Prestige Edition, a standalone collector's skin with unique loading screen border, splash art, and VFX, is also available exclusively in the loot store until November 19, 2018 at 11:59

I've probably watched that video a good 20+ times at this point. The rap section between the animation/colors and song is legitimately one of the catchiest things I've ever heard.

If there was a Neon Akali skin like the video I would buy it immediately and I don't even play LoL anymore.

Prestige Kai'sa is super limited (and you can't really buy it with money in a practical way), but the others (Kaisa/Evelynn/Akali/Ahri) are in the store to stay for foreseeable future.

As a K-POP fan this was cool and it's nice to see Ahri used here since she literally has a pop star skin.

Thanks for the clarification, out of all the champs I only play Ahri anyway. Kai'Sa has the nicest skin but I never play ADC or Jungle anyway.

As someone who is marginally into Kpop (I stopped really paying attention 5 or 6 years ago but still casually listen to new stuff on Spotify), this was pretty great. The song itself is pretty generic sounding but really well done. The music video is outstanding.

Can't stop watching it.

This is incredible. This is literally how a K-Pop video looks. Impressive how they captured that aesthetic in CGI.

In any case, it's a really cool looking video. Makes the pop music palletable.

Some of the English parts are performed by two Americans, Madison Beer and Jaira Burns. The Korean parts are done by two members of the K-Pop group "G-IDLE", Miyoen and Soyeon. They performed it live at the World Championship.

Riot has basically infinite money to spend on these types of songs/videos and it shows.

Riot's videos are always amazing, especially the music videos. I really like K-pop so this one was the best for me lol.

They've already covered other styles in case K-Pop ain't your thing:

All original songs and pretty nice too.
