I guess it could be a Direct mini rather than a full Direct too.

I wonder what else they'd talk about in a Direct with a N64 Classic.

I wonder why they waited so long to announce the N64 mini. Maybe they know they won't have enough stock thus don't need to market it heavily? No idea.

With the YouTube thingy and the N64 Classic, this could be a mini. A regular direct showing of FYQ4 stuff would come in January

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Still, there would certainly be other news and announcements outside of those two things.

Unless the isn't a Direct at all and just an announcement, and Zell's source is just a bit confused on how the announcement video will be branded.

Next best case scenario honestly. If Nintendo has a strong n64 lineup, they may win round 2 and steal Sony's lunch money. And we will still get a full January or February direct focused on switch. Good stuff.

Maybe they were waiting to see reactions on Sony's Playstation Classic? At least around here, a lot of hype died when they announced the list of games. If the N64 mini has all the classics it could be a great hit for Christmas.

Everyone should keep their expectations in check. It'll probably be a Mini Direct. N64 Mini being announced in a Mini Direct would work and some other small announcements.

Remember Mini Directs are just dropped onto YouTube out of nowhere.

All I need to see is Banjo Kazooie on it!

If YouTube is coming Thursday they might drop the Direct (if Mini) on Wednesday or Thursday.

"All holiday titles now announced (no add'l surprises)" is not REMOTELY close to saying that they have nothing new to announce before January?
I mean, yeah, they could make a direct to announce 2019 titles (though it would surprise many people apparently), but saying that it's not remotely close is probaly being unnecessarily hyperbolic.
That's precisely what I'm saying :)

Furukawa said this because the previous statement was something about "still Holiday titles unannounced" which was NSMBUDX. A Nov/Dec Direct happening or not has nothing to do with that statement that is solely meant to say that there are no more unannounced games releasing this Holiday from Nintendo.

I can see them remaking Zelda A link to the past for 3DS in the style of its 3DS successor.
You do know that ALBW exists because they started on ALTTP and Aonuma felt that was too boring? :)

haha good one :D

For quite some time now they've kept the general stuff (3DS/Switch), mobile, Classic systems, and special projects like Labo separate, presumably because those appeal to different audiences that happen to overlap sometimes. Hard to believe they'd start combining them now.

I think Nintendo knows by now that there isn't a select demographic for their classic consoles. When they announced the mini Nes it was mostly aimed at people not playing games regularly.

I mean December is literally next month.

I'm certainly surprised that they've gone this route for an incredibly short time between announcement & release for the N64 Classic. Maybe they think that WoM will carry it and that it's something that is well-established at this point 3 iterations in that people will see it on shelves and know what it is? Still a month though...

Yeah, it's very weird...

I can imagine they'll get even more complaints as to why these games aren't on "Switch VC" if they put it in a direct

I know it's been speculated that Nintendo held off on showing Star Fox Grand Prix until Starlink was out so they didn't have to compete for mindshare, so if this is a general Direct, I can see them finally announcing it here. That's a huge if, though.

Same. If it's a general direct that's the first thing on my predictions list.

You don't trust King Zell? Are we going through this not giving insiders the benefit of the doubt again. Lol

I don't doubt that he has legit sources of course, I just don't know how confident he or his source is that this is going to be branded a Direct or if they're just very confident simply that it's going to be announced.

Details like that can get lost in the chain of information.

The next Retro game seems tailor-made for E3 or the Game Awards though.

Again, King Zell vouched for Gaming Intel last time and they've been saying there's another direct coming since the start. So they seem to be on the same wavelenght.
