Forza Horizon 4 |OT| Seasoned to Perfection

Jesus Online really is a bummer. In the last 2,5 hours I'm trying to play ranked team adventure and so far I managed to join 3 games! Constantly 11/12 players accepted for minutes and then it fails, not enough people accepted error.
The 3 games I got in were terrible as well, I think the main strategy is not to win but by body checking you off in corners just before the checkpoints. Went from 1st to 11th in one race...

I had the same experience and well yeah. This is the main reason why I never touch Team Adventures Racing. Anything goes and Games only should be fine (except for the racing part in anything goes). It was painful just to get to the qualifying Ranked Adventure. The pain to get that achievement is not worth it.

This is part of why I tapped out on getting all the achievements, I had the exact same experience

Online achievements always suck.

Is it me, or are the traffic cars not spawning in free roam? I'm not complaining, because it's making speed traps easier for me, but still...

in Horizon life, they are practically non-existent. But once you pop over to Horizon solo, you'll be seeing traffic and drivatars for miles and miles

There is a bug where sometimes in Horizon Life, cars will fail to spawn entirely. Switch to Horizon Solo and they should start spawning again.

I just tried to get into a Forzathon Live five minutes before the top of the hour. It took the game five minutes JUST TO LOAD, and then when I got into the game I wasn't connected to a Horizon Life session, so RIP Forzathon Life. I made up for it by joining a Playground Games match where I got stuck on the side of a hill for a minute solid. Not the finest Horizon session ever.

I'm really liking the route creator; not because I have any actual interest in creating routes, but there are some excellent custom routes ripe for making a lot of money in a short time. The AI go offroad which means you can set the AI to unbeatable and win with ease, making 150k for 10 min of driving. Plus all the influence and skill points you earn, making it easy to rack up money.

Looking forward to getting the Winter skyboxes back. The other 3 seasons are just too samey for me for a 3 week span.

Thanks for adding me to the Era group (Avatoid is my GT), nice to be part of a club. I play a few times a week, is a lot of fun so far and is fun to race the familiar streets of of Edinburgh even when I get confused as certain landmarks aren't there when I turn a corner :lol

I'm not sure. It could be intentional because you're out with players in Horizon Life. It could be that is the reason why there's a lot of traffic/drivatars in Horizon solo.

Information for the next update just came out on today's Forza monthly. Seems like they are acknowledging the feedback being received from the community.

I'm liking that there's gonna be new wheels (I hope for more Volks, Enkeis, BBS, Work, and actual Watanabes) and more championships.

I really want Watanabes Type-R wheels in the game for old school builds

Sounds interesting. Color me intrigued. I was starting to lose motivation to log in.

Better championship prize pools sounds with rigid requirements sounds like just the type of structure and reward balance the game lacks.

Really curious to see what kind of updates the "service check" includes!

I'm especially hoping for some quality-of-life improvements like the ability to hide completed events from the map. But I'm not sure if that's the direction they even want to move in, or if enough people want that for them to implement it...

I hope it fixes the game-breaking sound muting bug. It's impossible to race without being able to hear anything.

question. Have you guys ever had the camera zooming in and out on you when you're rewinding on the route creator? I noticed this every time in third person camera view with the route creator.

The generally lower (but still noticeable) levels of AI traffic in Horizon Life? I don't think so.

The times when literally no cars spawn at all? That's a bug.

Hey folks... I got a i7 7th gen 1080 laptop and downloaded the Demo. Playing it on my C6 OLED. O_O

A couple of questions.

Does the full version run better than the demo?

I put it on Ultra setting.

I can get 4k 60fps in most environments, but when in the forest environment it drops some.

Also, when I turn on HDR (game already looks great without it) the framerate drops to 55.

So the question is, what settings have any of you dropped from Ultra Advanced settings... to still get 4k 60fps and HDR? I dropped some shadow settings and some reflection settings but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. 55fps

Is there a major setting that I can drop down?

I don't want to overclock the CPU. Worse case scenaro I'll drop it down to 1440p so I can get 60fps HDR even in the forest environment.

I know little of PC Gaming, mind you.

I'm really enjoying this game but why do my "co-op team mates" insist on ramming each other off the track, it's a team race not an individual one.. so annoying :)

Yes, this is a bug. Mainly as even though there is still traffic, it's very small to the point of being questionable. However, it might not be a high priority just yet as you can still see traffic about, just not as many in comparison to Horizon solo.

I'm sure it's accidental at times. But mostly a lack of etiquette. Also, I don't think many are used to or even keen on the emphasis that had been put on team racing... People just want to get ahead of the pack.

Yeah maybe, but nothing is more annoying when your teammate causes you to miss a checkpoint .. anyway it's still a great game

Oh I know, that's one of the reasons why I'm still level 2 in Adventure. I try my best to race cleanly, and I can't tolerate being run off the road by my own teammates.

Sometimes I wonder if PG went this 'Team Racing' route to minimize ramming- thinking that if people had a common goal they'd work together... But they should never underestimate the toxicity of an online community.

Trying to do the worlds fastest in the rain is a pain in the ass, the Veyron was a royal pain in the ass, I simply couldn't get the grip round the corners. I really don't like this forced season change every week, it really does make me feel like quitting the game until that one perfect week comes along for Summer.

I use the changes in seasons as motivation to try some different activities.

I do wish activities had separate leader boards and star requirements per season. That way, instead of skipping speed traps and zones during slippery conditions i'd be able to compete at anytime.

Ah that's a reliable pastime

I find dirt racing to be particularly fun When it's slippery out.

Completed 13 of 20 drift zones so far. I really suck at drifting and all of these take me so many attempts. Will probably take a break and do other stuff when winter rolls around.

Also that S-bends one is impossible. Don't know how I'll do that one.

Oh my god they announced that we'll be able to bulk add DLC cars to our garages in the next update! Finally!

It's been a while since I've done Team Adventure but I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually not toxicity half the time, but just people not being used to driving cleanly in a multiplayer environment. People are so used to ramming their way to the front and shoving the AI out of the way that it's hard to unlearn those habits in online, especially when there's zero penalty for it. Even before Sport, I think Gran Turismo would at least restrict your car's speed for a few seconds in online races if you smashed people, and would ghost your car if you were very clearly going to smash someone because you took a corner way too quickly, leaving you to hit the wall instead.

It'd be funny, though probably not ideal, if the game just automatically rewound you every time you looked like you were going to hit someone with more than a slight amount of force.

There's a bit of that, and there's also a whole lot of people who will actively try to push you off the road in straight lines. Like, they'll be rubbing against you and you'll see them turn to force you off the track. Fuck those people. I would love for that behavior to be sanctioned with some auto-rewinding.

I am level 5 in Drag strip but more races won't unlock. I only see three/four on the map. Is there a glitch or is this all?

There's one only accessible in Winter. Other than that, those are the only drag racing locations.

I'm sure some of it is accidental, and some is just bad habit... But countless times I've run into people who don't even try to win... They just try to see how long they can keep you ft progressing. And I haven't even done that many team adventures... Some folks don't even wait until the first curve, they start ramming at the start line.

I wish these games did a better job at training players to race cleaning, starting with giving much more post race rewards for driving without colliding with others. Driving cleanly should be as rewarding as coming in first, which should itself be heavily rewarded...

Thanks! I'm really hoping the connectivity fixes work for me, it's easily my #1 biggest issue with the game right now. Sounds like they're rethinking Team Adventure too, which is fantastic.

So I just did a Team Adventure, and I'm a dumbass. People are absolutely trying to fuck you at checkpoints all the time. Hilariously, the Freeroam events everyone hates so much? Those are the only things I can do well in.

Anyone else not being awarded the bonus FP for completing the weekly challenge and 7 daily challenges? Has been happening to me for a few seasons now...

Yup, same has been happening to me. I have the check next to the bonus, but no points are awarded.

anyone else sitting on ass loads of forzathon points? I just run it once or twice a day if I happen to be playing something else on my console (running FH4 on my pc & x) around the top of the hour, i'm already over 5k and probably set for life lol



The biggest thing I don't like is how unclear the seasonal rewards are, you have to go hunting down each event and see what the rewards are and even then its rarely clear what exactly you are getting unless you happen to know horn and t-shirt names (and most are those). Sometimes I'll get some random car from them and I have no idea what car came in since 90% of the cars in my garage are "new" and the only way to unflag them is to get into each one of them, nobody got time for that got a forzathon to get to!

One nice thing about ranked adventure, beyond how terrible the whole thing is, is that once you qualify for league in one season the next time you seem to only have to do 1 event to requalify instead of having to do 10 again. Still, the rewards are pretty terrible until at least rank 10, I have no idea how long it takes to grind it out from rank 20 to rank 10 but I doubt i'll ever find out.

I finally got Edinburgh Castle last night and then won the rarest car in the game from the Super Wheelspins it gives.

Oh thank god! I was just in a team adventure race in the quarry and ended up on my side, neither rewind nor reset would work so I could either wait for the race to end like an idiot or quit. It was infuriating.
