I wish had a vr headset to try this. Very fun visuals and music but I didn't find their "Tetris ideas" all that great. I think my favorites are still Tetris DS, New Tetris on N64, and honorable mention Tetrisphere. I even prefer Puyo Puyo Tetris over this.

I've been uninterested in VR since the technology hit the mainstream with PS VR and other products. But I got the PS VR when that Target price mistake happened in the early summer. And now, Astro Bot and freaking Tetris are the killer apps for me.

Why is it the the 1St track is better than the other 2? I mean the song plus stage effects are amazing. The other 2...meh.
I will say that the vr mode is disappointing. It looks low res. I mean really? It couldn't have been hi res even on pro? Something odd is going on. Wish sony would assist devs if they can't naximize the hardware fir good vr visuals. (like someone said, looks like og ps4 vr games during first 5 months)

I'm sad I didn't get the sampler since I pre-ordered the physical copy from Best Buy, but man I'm loving the demo. I've played mostly in VR, and tonight I tried the 4K HDR mode, and hot diggity fuck that's gorgeous.
The PSVR is only a 1080p screen split between 2 eyes. Having a PS4 Pro doesn't magically form new LEDs.
Pro can have enhanced games even vr titles. I don't expect v1 to match 2d resolution or performance thus my hopes v2 is better but Pro can have vr titles look slightly better if done right.

that depends on personal taste... i love the third track and don´t like the other two at all...the first one is especially cheesy and the female vocals turn me off .-)
they're locked in the demo. we did get mystery mode as event but that ended this morning.
I don't normally participate in black friday, but this game is going to push me over the edge on picking up a PSVR. Or if a good deal pops up before then.
I wanted to like this and it looked pretty cool in VR, but I really dislike the music. I'll probably just stick with the Tetris games I already have, at least until it gets a deep discount.
Tried Mystery Effect Mode. Man, they can really fuck with you in that mode.

I'd like Mystery a lot more if they'd get rid of vertical flip. All of the tricks are a fun challenge, vertical flip just feels malicious.
Hm, i'm not sure but I got mine (it's a gold astronaut). My guess is you need a 100 partipation rating by the end of the event and the event needs to be successful?
I'm a pad only PSVR kind of guy, and you're well catered for if you don't have or want Move/Aim controllers.
RE7, Rez Infinite, Astro bot, Wipeout Omega, Tetris Effect, Polybius, Thumper, Battlezone etc. They're all top tier VR experiences.
The IQ is a fair margin below what the screen can deliver optimally, so yes Pro can help.
To be fair even nonvr 4k IQ is noticeably aliased so...

I'd even be okay with keeping vertical flip if it only lasted for like three drops. It seems to go on forever.
Off Topic, but this game made me connect a USB to the PS4 to extract the soundtrack. I remembered that there was also a Lumines Soundtrack, I was pissed off when I discovered that Shining wasn't there
When listing DS4 only games, we can't forget Statik - it's probably one of the most inspired ones on any medium, not just VR.
Also Tethered and No Heroes Allowed as VR has given a new life to RTS/God management genre that shouldn't be ignored.
Worth noting that not every wand-game is room-scale waggle stuff. Dino Frontier plays out more like classic Populus, is very much a seated experience, and wands are more or less just your mouse/touch screen replacement. It helps that it's one of the best looking PSVR games out as well.
I went through finishing everything in the demo without realizing the "zone" mechanic was a thing (I skipped the tutorial). Had someone else play and they accidentally hit R2 and slowed down time and I was just like "welp that would have helped immensely in some of the 150 line challenges."
Can't wait for this game, adored Rez Infinite, it's basically just that aesthetic built around Tetris, not much else to say or complain about really.

Some of the levels in the Journey - past the first 4-5 are actually so close to psychedelic experiences that I have had that it's crazy. I'm in love with this game.
For anyone who ordered from Best Buy and was bummed that they weren't expecting to have copies in until the 16th, I just got an e-mail letting me know they've updated the release back to the 9th.
Pre ordered because I loved the demo so much and I am not the type who typically plays games like this but damn, I'm really considering asking for PSVR for Xmas just for this

the sampler has some jams on it, but I kind of regret not hearing them for the first time in the game.
Would be pretty difficult to do without looking the artistic style of Puyo puyo.
Sorry for the late reply, but if I tone down, or get rid of the effects altogether... isn't this just regular Tetris? I don't have a PSVR, so I can't experience the game like that either.
Again, the game looks great, but I really don't care about the presentation and it actively gets in my way of playing Tetris.
