Got my replacement and guess what? Amazon shipped it the exact same way except it's even more destroyed. Not sure what to do at this point.

Years ago I tried to get a specific softcover book, they they kept just mailing in a padded envelope. i was shipped and subsequently returned 4 copies of the book each one more beat up than the last. I finally gave up and bough it from somewhere else. They're just going to keep shipping it in the same packaging. They don't care.

Well, I got bounced around to what felt like 6 or so different people at Amazon customer service. Not one mention of a discount. Just replacement or refund was all they said. Really only wanted the discount since I don't want to deal with the replacement hassle which will likely be in equal or worse shape anyway.

They told me I can send photos via email. I might try that tomorrow and see if I get better responses.

Yeah, they only offered me replacement or refund as well. I think they hit the quota for discounts or something. Well, I requested the replacement; hopefully this one is in much better shape. Will know on Saturday.

Finally got the set and it's in good condition. But man the discs are a pain in the ass to get out.

I had to drive an hour to another Walmart store after they failed to process my order online.

I have no idea what my status is. The first one was crushed, the second was crushed worse. The first rep said they'd said a third but couldn't guarantee it wouldn't ship the same way. I got disconnected from her, so a second rep said they'd cancel the second replacement and give me a refund if I sent ONE of the sets back. However, tracking shows the SECOND replacement out for delivery.

So... uh, right now I've kept the first set, sent the second set back, possibly have a third incoming, and might be refunded for the whole shebang.

GOOD JOB AMAZON

Got my second copy, and it STILL came in a padded mailer. Wtf Amazon…. It miraculously arrived undamaged though. And with a lower number than what I got. Good enough for me.

The HD previews on iTunes look exactly the same as I remember my DVDs looking. I can't imagine those being remastered uploads.

Weird, the Mask of the Phantasm disc refuses to play on PS4, giving a CE-35491-2 error. Other discs I've tried from the set have worked without issue. Put the Mask of the Phantasm disc in the Xbox and works fine. Strange.

This whole thread is talking about damaged boxes lol. How are people enjoying the actual discs?
Well, my friend explained it to me but I didn't understand but really noticing how great the music is this go around. Some truly stellar work.

The picture quality still amazes me after 13 eps. So crisp.

The show really hits the floor running. Like in first disc I think something like 10 truly stand out episodes

Sorry for shifting this back to Amazon shipping, but wanted to post an update in case people were holding out hope. Got my second replacement in and they finally used a box. Think they finally got the message.

With all the revivals, I would love to see B:TAS get a revival season. It would be amazing.

It kind of had one with the awful Harley Quinn and Batman movie. I wish they could just adapt to animation some of the stories from the long running Batman Adventures comic book, as some are really good and already try to be as close to the animated series. There is plenty to choose from since the series lasted, under different names or creative teams, from 1992 to 2004.

Edit: actually Mad Love and the character of Roxy Rocket both debuted on or as part of Batman Adventures.

I remember the show being a bit more geared toward adults than what I've seens in the first few episodes. The Joker and Scarecrow's portrayals aren't great and there's a lack of subtlety all around.

They get the basic shit out of the way in the early episodes, then when they revisit the characters they go a little more in depth... for a kid's show

UK here. My standard edition was labelled 'undeliverable' by Amazon with no explanation after being 'out for delivery' for most of the day. I got a refund.

I really hate the cheap packaging. That being said, will the standard edition come in the same plastic casing that the Adam West series came in? And aside from Funko Pops, what features from the limited edition will be absent in the standard edition?

Well -- the HDX versions are up, but the code that redeems from the Bluray set only counts toward SD (for now, at least). HDX is listed as $79.99.

I've been watching this series for the first time with my housemate (so far just finished season one), and boy does this show have peaks and valleys. "I've Got Batman In My Basement" is abysmal, but right after it is "Heart of Ice", which is one of the best Batman stories ever.

That's considered to be the worst episode of the series so you're not alone.

Off the top of my head, these are the worst episodes and are completely skippable unless you're a completionist .

-The Underdwellers
-I've Got Batman is my Basement
-Cat Scratch Fever
-Moon of the Wolf
-Prophecy of Doom
-The Terrible Trio

Pretty good out of 85 episodes (109 including the New Adventures).

Though I'll be honest, while Heart of Ice is a good episode that re-defined Mr Freeze, it's never been one of my favorite episodes.

Add any episode featuring Red Claw to that list.

The show tends to be at it's worse when it's trying to be a kid's show.

The grand irony of the series

But also those are front loaded

I always liked Terrible Trio. It's not top tier or anything, but I enjoy how it's Batman versus a sociopath instead of a psychopath.

Awesome! I'll try my code tonight.

I've never quite understood the amount of dislike for it either, but I listed it because I know Bruce Timm hates the episode. Once way back on the toonzone forum, he called it the worst episode of the DCAU.

The last scene of the episode is crazy though. I'm amazed they were able to get away with it.

I've always had a fond spot for I've Got Batman In My Basement. It's not a masterpiece episode, but something like the aforementioned The Underdwellers is far worse by dint of just being a bit...boring.

That's what I like about it. It gets uncomfortably dark for a kid's show. Besides the ending there's the moment where the head of the trio rationalizes why they have to kill the girl. It's very different from the rest of the episodes. As Batman put it at least Joker has madness as an excuse.

I distinctly dislike Underdwellers the most out of any episode because aside from just not being good, it seemed to play more often than any other episode in my local syndication. I swear it was on like every 10th time I watched. "Sweet, Batman time!! *watches intro hyped* *sees Underdwellers title card* ... oh.. ... AGAIN?!" No digital guides or VoD descriptions back then to let you know what was airing. Underdwellers was the source of many disappointments.
