343i has been hinting at private flight testing starting next year for Infinite.

Is there a source for this?

As far as I know, the only thing Stinkles confirmed is that there will be a tree and they are looking at weapons too :)

Halo Infinite for me will be Fall 2020 to align with Xbox Scarlett and the Showtime Halo Series.

I know about it, but these 3000 games could be just tested to see how their Azure will work with gaming eviornment. It's not the same as we will get all of these games.

10 Mbps download speed is not everything to have streaming of games in very good codition to work. I have a around 100 Mbps with 6 Mbps upload. I tested PlayStation Now and it worked on one time good, one another not bad.

Microsoft have potential there. Of course. Lot of Azure around the world. And hopefully they will do this at least very good.
I'm sorry but Microsoft would not release a product that doesn't work well. The reason PS Now is like that is because they launched the service before the world was ready for game streaming. As someone who has played Assassin's Creed Odyssey on a weak Chromebook using Google's Project Stream (and it ran flawlessly), Microsoft is positioned for a service that runs just as good if not better than Project Stream.

The difference is Microsoft, Amazon and Google have both invested and researched in cloud for years and years and have cloud computing all around the world. Sony does not have an infrastructure like this.

Because of the price. Simple! Now you can buy it for £32.86 @ ShopTo and £34.99 @ GAME, where Assassin's Creed® Odyssey is for £45-50. When Fallout 4 was for £10, then this game was in TOP 10 in GfK Chart Track.

You know this was not for this week right? It all time sales since the both went on sale 5 weeks ago. And FH4 is beating AC wich is also on PS4. Wich is really good for a racing game and a game that is on Gamepass even also.

Hopefully Google won't get well with Project Stream and their entrance gaming.

Yes, but if they counting all weeks, so every days matters. If Forza Horizon 4 is for much cheaper price for a few days that have some obvious impact in sells. People, especially in the UK, when see some very good offer then they buy something so fast.

If they can do this, it is going to be PHENOMENAL. Imagine playing Halo Infinite on a OnePlus, Apple, LG etc.

Question is will it support Crossplay?

It has to be. As I said Play Anywhere is only getting started. This has been Microsoft's vision since it got announced. The future they are pursuing is where there are no boundaries for devices or people. They've said this for a while too. They seem to consistently be pursuing it too rather than resting on their laurels, which makes me really excited.

Right now I'm just hoping for MCC PC and if they can, an emulator for windows 10 same as xbox for past generation titles.

Ninja Theory trademarked "Bleeding Edge" so that reminds me of when they announced Hellblade. MS will probably show NT's new game that certainly just started this year.

They registered another trademark before bleeding edge back in November 2017, called "UPREZ"

I've loose that hint, they just say that the title will be seen in 2019.

Seems like it's definitely a good possibility that we'll see something from Ninja Theory then. I've no idea what to make of either of those two names but I guess we'll find out.

The big announcement is Ninja Theory's game. Ninja Theory trademarked a game called Bleeding Edge and last week the entire Microsoft marketing team was at Ninja Theory's studio. Don't know why you would have marketing meetings if you has nothing to market.

Very very true. Exciting! That is definitely a good look, being able to show a new IP a few months after E3 where the new studios got announced. Back then I really thought we'd hear about new IP at E3 next year at the earliest.

Are we sure that forza tech is the right engine for not racing games? Looks like the EA thing where everyone was excited by using frostbite on everything. Just because it works extremely good for its designated target doesn't mean that would be as good on another genre.
And I believe that fh4 was the last title in forzatech. The gap year and the timing are too perfect to be just coincidences. They are, to me, working on the next iteration of the engine

That's not game engines work, read any article about Frostbite (or the chapter in Schreier's book about DA: Inquisition) to hear about the problems with using a game engine that's designed for a specific type of game for another game that's a completely different genre.

I don't know shit about game development but I know enough to know it's not as easy or even possible as I my post my have suggested.

I'm just very curious to see what Fable is going to look like considering Playground's accomplishments with Horizon.

I think it's best to pretend Fable isn't even in development right now. That game is so far away it probably won't even launch with Scarlett.

I'm more interested in what Phil Spencer alluded to signing back in June of 2017 that would be 2.5-3 years away.

That could include Fable, sure, but I think there are games coming from studios we haven't even considered.

First news about Playground second studio are from Feb 2017.
I think with incubation and prototypes, Fable already have 2 yr development time.
Still think will be 2020/21 title.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Sales position not including Game Pass only makes this even more impressive.

All jokes aside, it's doing crazy good numbers for a racing game.

We actually don't know the amount of resources for slips paces nor its feature, like a powerful editor or online tools and so on.

Huh, you're right. Looks like I've misremembered some of the information we've been given.

My guess, we'll see a trailer at the Xbox Scarlett reveal event and it'll come out a year after launch, so 2021-22 sounds about right, albeit early, perhaps.

I say the earliest Fable can release is Fall 2021. I would be floored to see it release sooner. That doesn't mean we can't get a confirmation of it being in development as early as E3 2019 or even in 6 days.

So, what's happening with Killer Instinct?

Is Iron Galaxy gonna carry on with it or will Microsoft find a new custodian for that IP?

Next gen isn't far away so I would imagine the next gen version should be in development already.

Whatever happened to the rumor MS was going to acquire a studio so big it was on the scale that MS should just go ahead and announce the PS5? Anything come of that rumor or did it just flame out?

Alright rate my (realistic) predictions on a scale from 1-10 (10 being most realistic)

2-3 New studio acquisitions (Obsidian and 2 others)
Splinter Cell announcement
Banjo Remake or new game annoucement
Either Ninja Theory or Playground new cinematic since its too early for Gameplay (more likely NT)
Obsidian new game teaser

Gotcha

Okay so silly dumb theory. I know Ed Boon has teased the idea of a MK/KI crossover so how insane is it to think Netherrealm has picked up KI for a third project just to get the feel of a KI game?

MK is typically next in line for a NR game but it's announcement oddly went absent this year, maybe because NR might be doing another project? Having KI ready for Scarlett launch and doing MK mid next-gen.

It was believed that MS wasn't going to move forward with the IP. However, jez just mentioned MS is again looking for possibilities to continue franchise.

Wait, what?

I thought Killer Instinct was pretty successful. They gave it 3 seasons of content.
If I remember correctly, Jez said that Microsoft thought the value proposition just wasn't there. They gave it three seasons to try to pick up some momentum and (at least from what he'd heard), the value just wasn't there.

I feel killer instinct will more than likely return , just because
1. Game pass reasons

2. Microsoft said they'll stick to all their new ips and I believe they stick with the rebooted ones as well

Yep.

That's what they originally said. However, it seems things might have shifted lately. It is just insane not to continue KI.

Even Sony has an "exclusive" fighting game with SF5 and all its updates. The fighting community grew exceptionally this generation with PS4. That's another losing battle for MS.

MS owns its own exclusive fighting franchise, and they won't do anything with it? If that was true, for all the right moves MS is making for next generation, this is not a healthy move.

With Gamepass, games like KI will always have a steady flow of users throughout time. They just need to give it a steady budget, and you will see many buying Scarlett just for KI follow up.

Ironic, seeing as I personally know many including myself that got the Xbox One just for KI.

If they do make another KI, they need to get Mick Gordon back.

When you consider his work on games like Prey, I kinda feel Mick Gordon would be worth approaching for Perfect Dark, too.

I agree. I'd like to see them re-launch a lot of these games with sequels in Game Pass. When gamers accept that Game Pass is a reoccurring expense like Netflix and know they're going to recieve a new game, it's easier to be more invested in the hype. I think it's different than retroactively sticking a game into the service or shadowdroppong a game because gamers aren't as invested in the build up.

I also believe a big issue was the monitization model for the game. I think it either confused people or put them off. I'm not saying whether or not it was bad...but rather it was confusing. In the store there's so many packs, characters and seasons. $5 per new character seems steep. But then some of them come in the seasons. Do they all come in one of the seasons? It's not clear at first glance. Microsoft gave everyone seasons 1...but season 2 isn't sold separate. You have to buy a bundle of season 1 and 2 to get 2. It's weird.

In closing, I'd like to see this franchise released on Game Pass with a more straight forward monitization model.

I still think KI is coming back

Saying value propr isn't there is nuts considering how well it did in general considering it's a tourney fighter not a SP fighter.... and they are still VERY active with the community

Re xCloud:

Initially I just want a way of playing my games in my house, streamed over WiFi from my Xbox to my (non-Windows) phone, without having to pay for an additional subscription.

Hopefully they'll do that with the apps as well.

Only a few days left until CD3. I'm trying to keep expectations in check, but I really hope this to delivers. A good CD game is all I want.
